      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Stuttering Fix - V12

Okay so, I just stumbled across a certain reddit thread: I found this to be incredibly effective in reducing stutter in ALL games, not just Squad/PUBG This is especially useful for dullards like myself who of course thought : BiGgEr PaGeFile MUsT MeAN BEttEr tl:dr: Set Pagefile initial value and Maximum value to recommended amount and restart PC - Problem fixed.
  2. Recently watching some footage of Alpha 17, you can attach IED's to the drone and fly it into a tank and blow it up. Limit it to only be able to take on one IED, then it might be just a bit more balanced. Now we have to worry about bikes, vehicles, drones, HAT's from INS/MIL. Gotta worry about TOW's, HAT's, and unbalanced vehicles facing each other on other factions. There is so much anti-tank on the field that if you're within a certain distance, which you typically have to be because the map design forces it. There are maybe only a few map layers where you can actually shoot from 400m away, and that is still very easy to hit with HAT's. You also have sappers/engineers running around, planting down 4+ mines on every other road that you have to be careful about. I wouldn't mind driving offroad, if offroad wasn't terribly slow and ridiculously tedious. On top of that, MAKE IT SO I CAN SHOOT COAX IN VEHICLES WITH MY RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN FIXED YET?? WHY DO I NEED TO UNLOAD MY MAIN CANNON, TO SHOOT MY GOD DAMN MACHINE GUN???? ONLY TO RE LOAD IT WHEN I NEED TO SHOOT MY MAIN CANNON. Give THERMALS to their respective vehicles.
  3. People turning off shadows are cheating this game. If you turn off shadows, it completely removes any sort of shading, or camouflage that people may have. You're hiding somewhat back inside of a window, shooting people? Some ****er with shadows off and ambient occlusion off can see you, no problem and dink you in the head You should force at least Medium shadow distance for everyone. Stop this madness. Squad is the ONLY game that doesn't have FORCED shadows on UE4 engine. People are turning their GAMMA lower to see further because of the absurd amount of fog that is being placed on every damn map now. Why are thermals not in the game yet? You literally can't see past 900m on any map now excluding maybe a few out of 20+ different layers.
  4. This is a small thing I noticed and I know this may almost sound nit-picky, but the FAL reload animation isn't accurate as to how a real FAL reload looks like. In-game, once the magazine is empty you hear the bolt lock back on the last round, followed by a tilt showing the bolt held back. The magazine is dropped and another loaded back in, but instead of hitting the bolt-release your guy charges the bolt back manually. As your guy pulls the charging handle you can immediately tell it sounds like the bolt is forward when it should be to the rear as well. A small change that simply uses the bolt-release feature on the FAL would be very appreciated. It should bring the reload time down slightly as well I think. Again, this is such a little thing that I didn't see any one mention it yet. So here it is
  5. I used to get 100fps average @ 3440x1440 Ultrawide with all settings maxed out, I just played my first 2 games since v12 and my FPS was anywhere between 50-100 but constantly fluctuating massively, I assume this is a v12 thing as nothing has changed my end? My other games still perform flawlessly. Spec (for reference): CPU: i7-7700k GPU: Evga 1080ti SC2 Hybrid (Driver 416.94, not the latest because BFV ran like shit on the latest one) RAM: 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200MHz SSD: Samsung m.2 nvme I was hoping to get back in to Squad over the holidays but if it's behaving like that that'll put me right off.
  6. I'll start the topic: Near the Storage Bunker there's a hole, where you can fall under the map, and fall at least 6km down into oblivion. Here's video:
  7. I've chosen the fullscreen option and clicked apply, but Squad doesn't take up the entirety of the screen, it just goes to a set resolution. Like, the option says that it's full screen, but I can still see my Steam in the background. Any suggestions or fixes to this problem? If you need a reference I can send you an image: Steam - Adrien Moreau
  8. Bug Help me out!!!

Hey, I just updated squad to v12 on steam. When click Server browser the game start lagging on menu as the list goes on and get more bigger. Thus, the pointer of mouse is not movable on screen. Also when load any map after struggling, the game takes too long on loading and kick me out because of "time out", no clue what to do or how to solve it! Except Server Browser all other things works fluent and i am getting 30fps easily. But can't get into map. Also tried graphics with low settings abd cleared cache as well. Need help!
  9. EDIT, this is still an issue in v11... v11 I've posted about this a couple of times, this first being back in December 2015 but it is STILL an issue over 2 years later. Here are the original threads (note the original videos have gone now but the info is still relevant): December 22nd 2015 - http://forums.joinsquad.com/topic/9110-jittery-aim-video/?tab=comments#comment-140284 January 15th 2016 - http://forums.joinsquad.com/topic/11334-low-fps-high-pings-jittery-aim/?tab=comments#comment-167878 To be clear I'm not talking about weapon sway as obviously this is intentional, I'm talking about the crosshair's constant micro jittering and stuttering. Worth noting also that since I first encountered this issue back in 2015 I have changed EVERY piece of my PC's hardware including ALL peripherals, so this is 100% not an issue at my end at all. In the past when this was mentioned the general consensus was "it's a known bug on certain maps with certain scopes and the issue gets worse the closer to the center of the map you are" (I actually always had this issue no matter where I was on the maps) or "it's a UE4 thing that devs have no control over and it'll be fixed in the next UE4 update" or "it will all be sorted when v10 with new animations is avaialble". Well we're now on v10.1 and the issue is clearly still there, this was never an "animations issue" as I suspected all along. I seem to get this issue most when using an ACOG at Chora but it does happen on some other maps also. At close range it is not to much of an issue but at medium to long range the reticle jitters around so much that it is near impossible to hit targets. It feels like I'm using coarse sandpaper as a mouse mat as all my movements are exaggerated and jittery. I actually have a very smooth SteelSeries QcK mat and a pretty decent mouse (Roccat Tyon). Also worth noting that my FPS is usually very good on most maps (80-130 at Ultrawide 21:9 3440x1440 all Ultra settings + SMAA), (more like 50-70 on some of the lesser well optimized maps like Al-Basrah) and that SQUAD is the only game I get this in, in all other games I get super smooth mouse movement, even other UE4 games. Here are two videos very quickly and crudely shot with my phone, but it gives you an idea of what I'm talking about, the key here is that both videos show the exact same scope and that I'm using the exact same settings and hardware in both videos, the only difference is the in game map. Random weapon sway is perfectly acceptable but a reticle that keeps jumping about is pretty much unusable at medium to long range, and near impossible to get a headshot on even a stationary target. Smooth aim, as it should be, U.S. ACOG at Chora Valley: WATCH IN FULL SCREEN TO SEE FULL EFFECT Jittery aim, not right, U.S. ACOG at Logar Valley: WATCH IN FULL SCREEN TO SEE FULL EFFECT There is a massive difference between the two, and this jitter really reduces the ability to accurately aim on medium to long range targets with certain scopes. Again it happens more on some scopes and some maps. There is zero issue my end as I only get this issue with certain scopes and maps in Squad. So, is this actually ever going to be fixed as it's REALLY annoying?
  10. Please help - I have played Squad for over a year now and had no problems at all until I recently updated to Windows 10 and did a fresh Install. I now get an Error when launching the game, a message pops up "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application" Then When you click OK a message from windows pops up "PostScriptum.exe untrusted system file (C:\\Windows\System32zdwmapi.dll)" Anyone know how to fix this? Fixes i've already tried that don't work: -Uninstalling easy anti cheat -Verifying steam cache -Disabling Windows defender -Disabling anti Virus -Run as admin -Repair EAC I also get the same message when trying to run the Post Scriptum BETA. I love this game and i'm worried I won't be able to get this fixed i've looked at other peoples posts on here and nobody seems to have resolved this issue
  11. Hello Squad Community, so to get to the Problem right away i have heavy Performance Problems with my game my specs are: Graphix: Gt750ti 4gb Vram RAM:8 Gb of RAM CPU: AMD FX 6350 6x3,90 Ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FX Gaming So i really like this Game but the game is not that enjoyable if it runs at 30 FPS on some maps i get 40 btw. 12. Squad Crashing on start up

So I bought squad and when I first booted it up it wasn't responding so I looked up how to fix it i deleted squad in the USER/Appdata fix and that did nothing and then i deleted and reinstalled I restarted steam and verified the game cache and I booted it in windowed mode and it still doesn't work
  13. Hello errybody! like to start off by saying the game runs perfectly with my 1070 and my i7 5960x, no problems there. I tryed playing with the Config, it messed shit up, so I deleted DefaultEngine.cfg and the Saved Folder from my Appdata. Verified Integrity to Recover DefaultEngine.cfg and started the game, everything is back to Normal but Motion Blur wont work? Enabled in Game and in GameSettings cfg, what should I do?
  14. Glitchy Game ): PLEASE HELP

So i run squad on epic at nearly 100 fps but sadly for some reason it still looks like shite or play doh and i am 99.9% sure that it has to do with my graphics card which is a intel intergrated graphics 530 yes i know its crappy and i have a i5 6400 T cpu with 4 cores and 12gb of ram and i really want my game to look good please help! thanks
  15. Within the first 30 to 60 seconds of launching this game, I get this fatal error crash every single time. It used to run fine, but since version 7, and now with version 8, it crashes every single time. I just want to be able to play this game. Why won't the developers just fix this instead of adding new vehicles? I'm so tempted to leave a VERY bad review of this game on steam simply because the developers have not made fixing this a priority, which they should. I love this game when it worked, now it is a steaming pile of shit because it simply doesn't work. I've looked through every other thread on this subject, I've tried many solutions. Nothing has worked so far. I verified the integrity of my game cache, that hasn't fixed this either CPU - i5 6600k. GPU - GTX 1070 Strix OC (over clocked with GPU tweak, game crashes with and without OC so it makes no difference). Ram - 16gb of 2133 DDR4 Ram. Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-H110M. Operating System - Windows 10 64bit. Please Squad developers, please, fix this shit.
  16. The FOB/Rally system is being exploited by players. Too many times to count, I see clans joining a server and leaving ONE clan member on the enemy team - this guy is giving them precise directions to rallies and FOBs so that his clan member on the opposite team can camp the rallies and FOBs or destroy them. It completely ruins the game and it's FAR too easy to exploit. Even 1 person who decides they want to switch to the other team (for any reason) may easily create a squad and mark the enemy FOB / rally locations - completely destroying any fairness of the game in every way. The FOB/Rally system should be COMPLETELY RE-WORKED. I know this is a lot of coding but it's clearly too easy to exploit as it stands now. Sometimes it's just 2 friends who happen to be on opposite teams when they join a server, but they are coordinating easily over teamspeak/discord/mumble or other voip to farm kills at one of the FOBs, and then they even have the nerve to brag about their 50+ kills at the end of the game. ALSO: - The grass is too ****ing tall, IRL in the prone you can see over grass. - Which basic training did these soldiers go to? Every basic training environment IN THE WORLD teaches you how to climb over walls much taller than yourself yet squad members in this game can't even step over a few bricks. The inability to scale obstacles on certain maps makes navigating a ****ing nightmare.. yet somehow these soldiers can sprint on top of walls and jump from roof to roof without issue. - Since when do sandbags stop RPGs? LAT special ammunitions should destroy fortifications like sandbags AND soldiers behind them in 1 hit. - After throwing a grenade or performing other actions (but especially after throwing a grenade) we SHOULD be capable of sprinting immediately after, but instead the soldier is unable to sprint because he is retrieving his weapon, etc. The transition between weapons, or medkit, or otherwise should be sped up dramatically if not instant. It takes far too much time to swap weapons etc, and SPRINTING should automatically CANCEL whatever animation or action was being performed and allow you to sprint. You should never be unable to sprint just because you have just thrown a grenade and you are stuck in a "readying the weapon" animation.
  17. Potential Fix for v7.1 Fatal Errors

Fatal Error Crash Fix 2.0 - 10 Step Plan Disclaimer: Played 6 games w/ no errors - A full server DC'd and I stayed... A true Hallelujah moment! Test at your own regard - Let me know if it works for you. 1.) Disable Steam Overlay for Squad (can still hear notifications) 2.) Verify integrity of game cache on Steam 3.) Go into DefaultEngine.ini and change bSubsteppingAsync=False to bSubsteppingAsync=True (use Notepad) C: Program Files (x86) - Steam/steamapps/common/Squad/Squad/Config 4.) Remove plugins - C: Program Files (x86) - Steam/steamapps/common/Squad/Squad/Plugins 5.) Delete Temp Steam files - C: Program Files (x86) - Steam/appcache/httpcache 6.) Delete Steam Cache - C: Program Files (x86) - Steam/steam/cached 7.) Delete Steam User Cache - C: Users/"yourpcname"/AppData/Local/Steam/htmlcache (make sure 'view hidden folders is checked') 8.) Verify drivers are up-to-date (given) 9.) Restart PC and launch Steam as administrator 10.) Open Squad from Steam client not desktop app UPDATE 8/14/2016 @18:15pm PST - Working for some flawlessly and not working for others at all. I have played over 20 games now on full popped public servers with no issues. It's definitely physx related and an issue with the new UE4 ([/Script/Engine.PhysicsSettings]) - I will try my best to dial in a clearer solution this evening.
  18. Audio does not work

I just got squad and the game runs fine. The music in the main menu works well, but when i go to an actual server or firing range, the audio doesn't work. Nothing works. I later found this on my volume mixer. http://imgur.com/QzJW7mK I think that the headset is so maxed out where its so loud, i can't even hear it.
  19. No tire walls, forced gaps between building sandbags and hescas/walls, and barbed wire that is virtually useless.... FoB's were not over powered. Especially playing as insurgency, isn't that the point to use rag tag items (tire walls, trash, barbed wires) to defend against the enemy forces? There is now no point in putting up a FoB other than a spawn point (Edit: Except for an ammo crate, maybe a 50. The rest is pointless) There might as well be nothing else in the building system. I enjoyed making FoB's and defending them against rockets and grenades. I also loved attacking dug in positions and that satisfying feeling after you've finally taken one out. Build points have been nerfed to a factor of -5x. A large portion of the game has been destroyed with V6 update.... =7Cav=SPC.Storm.C
  20. Hey Guys, Like many people, I have had countless performance problems with AMD. Even after trying the workarounds, I still had countless problems. After hearing that the developers knew that it was a sound problem, I started experimenting with removing certain audio files. After hours of taking out single files all over the game, I think I finally found a fix. NOTE: This is kind of a last resort. I would suggest doing this only if you can't get good performance from other fixes. NOTE: If you would rather watch this in video format, I made a video here: Step One: Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Squad\Squad\Content\Audio Explanation: Here is one of the many location that files are stored for Unreal Engine 4. That is why they have the .uasset file extension. It this point you will want to make it so that the engine will not recognize certain files, thus not using them in the game. Step Two: Now you will want to take these files and rename them. Use the same name they have, and just add something to the end of the name. For me I would add Name. So, if a files was called "Audio", I would name it "Audio Name". Here is a picture showing the different files that you will want to add Name to. NOTE: None of the files originally had name in the title. Here is a image link: (It says my account can not upload picture, sorry for the inconvenience) https://www.dropbox.com/s/3pu8dj4eionehf3/Picture%20One.png?dl=0 After performing these changes, I have never had my framerates drop below 20. It is normally around 45, but 72 player servers with a lot of people drops it down. This is my build: AMD FX-8320 (Overclocked to 4.0GHZ) R9 270 8GB of DDR3 RAM. ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 (MOBO) After this, the game will sound pretty weird. Reload sounds can be heard a lot, and there are not footsteps, bullet shell sounds, etc. To me, however, it was worth it. If anyone is interested in what each files contains, I can make a list explaining what they each have. Hope this help! ~Calvin
  21. Starts then Crashes

I have already played over 13 hours of the game, however on trying to play it starts and crashes. i have already uninstalled twice. Help would be much appreciated as i really want to play this game. (I have a 64 bit OS)
  22. As many of you may be aware there is now an unofficial SLI fix for Squad posted by UKEF-JD , which has resolved the lack of SLI support on unreal engine 4 temporally . Unfortunately for me I am AMD TILL I DIE. There is a post by sn1p3, where he suggest using the AFR friendly mode to solve your crossfire woes how ever using AFR mode results in texture flickering to an unplayable level. I attempted using the Batman Arkam Origins profile like suggested on the SLI post however this just killed in game fps to below 10 , honestly didn't think it would work, but worth a try :P ! What I'm hopping for is an AMD Fan on this site who has the time and knowledge to find out if there is a similar Fix for us AMD users, possibly utilizing one of the predefined profiles in Radeon Settings? Lets not let these Nvidea Geeks steel the show. Any support that leads to an Crossfire fix would be appreciated. Lets Show these Nvidea geeks what were made of!!!
  23. I have a i3 gtx 960 with 8gb ram and on the firing range I get 200 fps but when I join a server it drops down to 40-35 plz help
  24. When I am shot while holding rpg or AT4 and I go heal myself it takes forever for it to transition to bandage. Now in real life I would just throw down my rpg at4 to heal myself and I certainly wouldn't take my time. Could this be fixed?
