      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  2. SDK: Vehicle Spawner: CANCELLED

HI all, I've been having "fun" with the Vehicle Spawner lately. My hope was to modify it to enable spawning more than one vehicle at a time and to add an Allowance to limit the total number of spawned vehicles, of the Spawner - and i think i'm close to making it work. Thanks to @wasti for putting me on to needing a "Tracked Vehicle" array, specifically - i think (HA! LOL!) i've set things up correctly but still have a few nagging doubts. Below are the EventGraph and SetCanSpawn, from inside the VehicleSpawner (i've left CheckCanSpawn alone atm), and things highlighted in the pics are things i have added. EVENT GRAPH > To count, Add / Remove Spawned or Destroyed Vehicles from the Make Array. The GATE because i needed to drive the REMOVE (to pass on OnVehicleDestroyed EXE). The ARRAY to hold a count of currently spawned Tracked Vehicles. REMOVE Tracked Vehicle, via OnVehicleDestroyed EXE. LAST INDEX = total number spawned. ADD Tracked Vehicle (from the SET), and driven by the (last spawned) ?IsValid EXE. (* just realised i have to re-route ADD's out EXE) SET Total Spawned Vehicles, driven by both ADD and REMOVE EXE's. SET CAN SPAWN > Thought this might be a good place to stitch-in - the only place i could think of to definitively break "Can Spawn". 1. Decides if the Allowance has been met or not by the Total Spawned Vehicles value being less than the Allowance value <true/false>. 2. Checks to see if any previously spawned vehicle(of class) is still sitting inside the Spawn Zone (ie; not taken yet) <true/false>. If Allowance = False, then the EXE will stop - if True will pass on. *just realised i need a link to the Set Can Spawn from Allowance=False, i think (or it won't fire?) If Spawn Zone = False, then it will Set Can Spawn to False *(what Allowance should also do) If both 1 & 2 are True then the Set Can Spawn will be driven and set to True, as per normally. I've looked at this now a number of times and can't find anything wrong with it (compiles fine ...) but i'm an amateur n00b at this stuff, at best. I'm too tired to test it tonight, so if anyone sees anything i've done drastically wrong or won't work (or possibly call up things from the vasty deep...), please let me know - still not sure how/if the array will work or not ... Cheers!

  9. Alpha 10 Public Test

Dec 21, 2017 Hey Squaddies, We've made the feature list, we're checking it twice, and we're definitely going to find out who's been naughty or nice, the Alpha 10 test run is coming to town! For about 24 hours starting on December 21, 6 PM UTC/10:00 AM PST, we'll be releasing a public test version of Squad Alpha 10 for everyone -- yes, you in the back, you can download and play, all you need is Squad. Be sure to use the Custom Servers tab for the Public Test. PLEASE NOTE: This is a work in progress! Alpha 10 is still undergoing active development and does not have a scheduled release date. It will be more than three weeks; consider yourself warned! The contents of this public test are subject to change and may not be representative of the final release. In other words, it's not done yet, but we want your feedback! And your bug reports. Expect bugs, quirks, server performance, and extra steps to be required. (See below!) Get the Public Test If you have Steam installed, you're already most of the way there. Right-click on Squad in your Library. Click "Properties". Navigate to the BETAS tab. In the box that says, "Enter beta access code to unlock private beta:" enter the following code: squadparkourdlc Click "Check Code". In the drop-down box above the code, select the "public-testing" branch. Click close, and your download should begin. PLEASE NOTE: The public test version will only become available at 1500 UTC / 0700 PST. Prior to that, the current version of Alpha 9 will be available using that password. You will need to clear your cache or your key bindings will not work. Public Test Patch Notes Before you go playing with all your shiny new toys, let's check the card and see what's in the box: Transition time from sprinting to aiming down sights has been increased. Transition from standing to prone is no longer instant. (So long, prone diving!) Crouch sprinting added. Additional MOCAP data for climbing and vaulting has been integrated. Vaulting now allows movement over small walls. (Parkour!) Climbing now allows movement over some walls. (Parkour?) Freelook has been added. Weapon sway effects have been adjusted. Weapon collision has been added. Be careful in tight spaces! Scoped weapons have reduced peripheral vision. Reticles have been updated. Ironsight zoom increased when aiming down sights. Infantry weapons now have adjustable sights. This obviously does not apply to weapons with fixed sights. New role: Machine gunner has been added to Squad with new primary weapons. (PKM and m240b) Deployable bipods available for MGs. Adjustments to address flag capture blocking. Switching vehicles seats now has a delay that varies by vehicle. Several vehicles now have secondary ammunition types, such as the 30mm HE rounds for the Russian BTR-82A. Several vehicles now have coaxial machine guns. Logistics trucks will now be able to load and unload 2000 total points worth of space which can be allocated for construction or ammunition. By default, Left Mouse Button will unload and Right Mouse Button will load. See the November Recap for more information. 3-minute pre-match staging period has been added to help teams coordinate. Maps: Belaya has been added with a work-in-progress weather effect. Main menu UI has received first pass with new assets. These are just some of the changes coming in Alpha 10 and a complete changelog will accompany final release. Keep an eye on these new additions and let us know how they feel. As the changes are not final providing us with your feedback will help shape the future of Squad. Join us in the #feedback-a10 channel on Discord or share your thoughts in the forums. Known Issues Cached game data must be cleared so key bindings will work. Not losing stamina while crouch sprinting. Bipod deployed UI. Extra weapon model after revive. Swap weapons and swap back to fix. Unable to vault or climb, especially after deploying bipod. Go prone and stand to fix. Stuck hand model. Go prone and move to fix. Uncontrolled sway, regardless of sprinting or stamina. Switch kits to fix. Experiencing issues with something related to the patch that's not above? Congratulations, you may have found a bug! If you'd be so kind, you can report it in the #bug-reports channel on the Squad Discord Watching the Public Test Away from your PC this time of year? You're not alone, but fortunately for you (and the rest of us), some of our partner streamers will be broadcasting the action. Be sure to check in on their streams throughout the day to get your fix: HAYNICK31 plans to see how the hottest competition in Squad is adjusting to the changes. JohnnyOmaha has threatened to go a whole 24 hours if we let him have ALL the energy drinks. Karmakut will stream from release until 6:00 PM PST. running_Duck will be live as soon as the download finishes. Squad Ops takes the field at 6 PM PST to show us how Squad is done. Offworld Out.
  10. Our Heartfelt Thanks Hey Squaddies! You went big. And we owe you some big thanks. On Veterans Day, we partnered with Stack-Up.org, a charity dedicated to giving joy to the troops with our shared hobby of gaming. We asked our partners, streamers, and the community to step up, open their wallets, and make sure our veterans get a little love. Instead of simply sharing a little love, the Squad community did what they do best: conquered it. Even better, you conquered it for Stack-Up.org. Thanks to you, the donations at the time of writing total $30,480.78. We're very proud to announce that this is the second year in a row that the original goal has been absolutely smashed. That's $30,480.78 to improve the lives of those who have dedicated theirs to service. Just... wow. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/200600220 Desmolocke, JohnnyOmaha, [OWI]Norby, and [OWI]SgtRoss recap Veterans Day. More than 34,000 viewers tuned in to watch the Call to Arms. Some of the best Squad action we've ever seen - no joke - came to us courtesy of the International Squad Knockout Tournament, North American Squad, Community Clan Fight Night, Squad Ops, an army of streamers, and squaddies like you. None of which would have been as exciting and entertaining without our hosts DesmoLocke, Haynick31, JohnnyOmaha, and runningDuck. Thank you so much. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/200510498 Every streamer that stepped up to fight for charity showed us the heart of the community: LtVictory, MrChaggy, PmsProxy, Shroud, and wish took up the banner and astounded us with their generosity and love from their fans. Thousands of players around the world got to know Stack-Up.org a little better because of you and that is something to be proud of. Thank you so much. So, thank you. Thank you so much for your generosity. Thank you so much for opening your hearts again. We've been honored by the opportunity to fight alongside you and we hope you'll join us again. If you missed the opportunity to give back, the campaign remains open until the end of the month. Offworld Out.
  11. Stack-Up! Veterans are at the very heart of Squad: they're at the heart of both the team and the community. We simply wouldn't have Squad without our veterans. With that in mind, we're looking forward to another Veterans Day celebration in conjunction with Stack-Up.org. On Saturday, November 11th, 2017, we'll be showing off some of the best Squad has to offer and what's changed since last year. You'll be able to get a glimpse of some of the hottest competition in Squad, chat with Offworld developers, and maybe even snag some prizes. Best of all, Stack-Up is a charity that's by gamers, for gamers. Ain't nothin' wrong with that! So join us on November 11 for the Stack-Up for Veterans Day. We're honored to be part of the action! We'll be kicking things off at 10:00 AM PST and running until about 8:00 PM PST. With the help of our amazing streaming partners, here are some of the highlights: Community Clan Fight Night (CCFN) shows us what being part of the Squad community is all about: a damn good fight. North American Squad (NAS) brings the Squad gold in hard-hitting combat action. The ISKT all-stars have challenged OWI developers to field a squad -- Challenge accepted! Squad Ops: Cinematic scenarios, intense firefights, and one life to live. Who could ask for more? Squad developers answering YOUR questions. Giveaways! We've got some hardware and some softer wares to share! For our international squaddies that won't be able to tune in: be sure to submit your questions for the development team in advance! All you need to do is comment in the related thread with your questions about mapping, modding, Squad development, or Squad developers. Video will available after the event, so you can check out the answers at a more reasonable hour with a proper cuppa. The Offworld Industries team will be pledging $10,000 USD to Stack-Up and we are aiming to match that in donations over the course of our charity campaign. You can, of course, also make a small donation via Squad merch. ($5 of every item purchased goes to support Stack-Up.) Be sure to order before December 15th to get your order in time for the holidays. Squad Up! In conjunction with the November 11th Stack-Up event, Squad will be running a Steam free weekend and 50% off sale from Thursday November 9th at 10 AM PST to Sunday November 13th at 1PM PST. This will be a great chance to finally pile all your friends into a BTR (or a BTR) of your choice and hit the battlefield. We are extremely excited for everyone to get a taste of all the improvements since last year! Along with the free weekend, we're working with our hosting partners Bluefang, Fragnet, HostHavoc, Gamerzhost, PingPerfect, and Vilayer to ensure we are ready to rock for the influx of new squadmates. Please help us in welcoming them and helping everyone get their boots on the ground. Call to Arms The Squad community is filled with veterans of all generations and we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to play our game with them on a regular basis. They've become the backbone of many of the best communities and clans and we greatly appreciate their passion for Squad. We have four of our own who have served in various roles for their respective militaries and it is the least we can do to show our commitment to them as developers and partners. Our hope is that by becoming a fundamental pillar of Stack-up, Squad and its community can start to effect change on a larger scale and encourage others to do the same. Together we succeed! On November 11th, we hope to see you at the charity drive to support Stack-Up and honor all those that dedicate their life to service. Special thanks to our streaming partners that made this event possible. They include, but are not limited to CCFN, ISKT, NAS, Squad Ops, DesmoLocke, Haynick31, runningDuck, and everyone who's given their time and love to Squad. Stay safe out there, squaddies! Offworld Out.
  12. The commander's Choice is an open event, we invite all members of the great Squad Community to help us populate and play in this event. If you are interested in commanding, squad leading, or you just want to be a grunt on the frontline, join us! We are planning on hosting more of these, so if you did not make Commander or squadleader, or even grunt the first time around, feel free to help us organize and run this event for a chance next time! Map Information: The map will be Yehorivka AAS V1 US Team assets are: 3 Strykers, 2 HMMVWs, 2 transport trucks and 2 Logistic Trucks. Russian Team assets are: 2 BTR-80, 1 BTR-82A, 1 MT-LBM 6M, 1 MTLB 6MA, 2 Transport Trucks and 2 Logistic trucks. Event Information Each Commander will be in admin cam ingame, telling their team what to do, and will play the game much like a strategy game. They will be restricted to only view their own teams positions, and not use the admin cams ability to view all. We obviously know the admin cam can be abused, and will ensure both commanders have integrity aswell as running the server behind a password. Hopefully both commanders will stream allowing complete transparency. Each Commander will also be required to make a battleplan and maintain and organize their team as best they can before the battle. Server Information The server will be running from Free Candy Van 2, we run our servers from OVH on an Overclocked i7 7700k @ 5ghz, with 64gb of DDR4 ram and 2 SSDs, which should be more than enough to maintain the server. If you are interested in livestreaming the event then you are welcome to do so, and if you want us to promote your channel as you are streaming, reach out to us, but it is not required to stream our event. We will not permit anyone else but the Commanders to use admin cam. Rules Obviously standard FCV rules apply, with common sense being mainly the red line here. All squadleaders must follow commanders orders. All squadmembers must follow squad leader orders. All players must have microphones. Any issues will be dealt with Wicca. Rushing flags is permitted. Each team may only go to the last flag of the enemy team, but may flank to either side towards the enemy mainbase to attempt to disrupt supply runs. Signup Dates & Times All signups and organization will happen in the FCV Squad discord. Commander signup 16th of September 1800 UTC [FCV] Training, Task Force & Admin team Signup 19th of September 1800 UTC Player signup 20th of September 1800 UTC Battle 30th of September 2000 UTC
  13. Season one of the Level Gaming 40v40 community tournament has kicked off! However, it's not too late to signup and get in on the action if you're looking for organized competitive Squad. You can sign up as an individual (no team needed), or as a group of friends/clanmates We balance the registered users onto 2 teams, Red & Blue Both teams have an assigned captain to organize their respective team Battles are every Saturday at 1PM eastern Season lasts 7 weeks (1 map / 2 rounds) Winning team will have an opportunity to win a Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum - http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g933-7-1-surround-sound-gaming-headset Tournament is open to both North American and European players Register and join the discord channel here - level.gg This event is unlike any other existing Squad competition due to its structured nature mixing players from all teams, communities and geographic locations. The 40v40 tournament involves two teams, Red versus Blue each led by a team captain. Level has its own private battle server and each side is provided their own private discord channel to discuss strategies. Level is not a clan, so being in a clan is not a problem. Just bring your clanmates along for the ride! Tournaments, or seasons, are the heart of Level. A season generally lasts between 5-8 weeks where every Saturday a battle takes place for approximately 2 hours. At the end of the day the teams score up to two points that go toward ultimately crowning a season champion.

  15. What is Level Level is a global eSports organization that promotes online gaming through quality gaming events for both the amateur and professional player base. Like some of the developers at Offworld Industries, our background derives from the original large scale organized combat series – Battlefield. Since 2012 we’ve organized dozens of unique events, hosted over 1000 competitive matches and with the release of Squad we intend to bring the same incredible events to this incredible community. Competitive Community Events Our goal is to provide the Squad community with events that don’t require you to be a part of a team to participate in organized competitive events but ultimately a hub to connect you with those groups should you be interested. We believe in game longevity driven by social and competitive experiences that doesn’t single out players that are short team members or a lone wolf. This also allows for teams that have spent hours of game time on opposing sides of the battlefield to finally compete together for a whole new competitive experience. 40v40 Tournament – Seasons After a successful Military Charity event (raised over $700 in donations) and community requests, we will be kicking off season one of our 40v40 community tournament. This event is unlike any other existing Squad competition due to its structured nature mixes players from all teams, communities and geographic locations to form commingled teams. The 40v40 tournament involves two sides, the Red Team versus the Blue Team led by a team captain. If you or your friends are interested in participating in season 1 starting Aug. 26th, get signed up at squad.level.gg now!

The legacy group is inviting anyone who wants to come try out an event hosted on our Training server. The event will be a Rush game mode. Much like battlefields Rush mode but in squad. Defenders get light vehicles and supplies, the further back the Attackers push the more equipment the Defenders get. FOB's will of course take place of the MCOM system. Attackers attack FoBs in stages. Commanders will be present to direct flow of action and to keep players inside playable areas and away from back FOBs. Defenders will have time to set up defenses while attackers think of routes and tactics. We try to keep the maps RU v US for kit evenness. BTR is only available for the last FOB. Open top humvees for US, no CROWS except last FOB assault. Flag caps are to be ignored and tickets reserved as much as possible. WHEN: Saturday at 7pm CST EVERY WEEK (new game modes will be tried, always open to suggestion) WHERE: Always at the - [USA] Legacy Training | Vilayer.com - server under the Customs Tab DISCORD for the Op. 23. Hey folks, Bill here. For a few weeks we tried out having semi-competitive community nights. Overall I'd say they turned out pretty well, so I've decided to bring it back. The goal is to host an event public players can join that focuses on solid objective driven fast-paced gameplay without some of the problems that plague public servers. It will be held on 2.FJg Tactical Realism Squad [#4] No Bs Night in the community servers tab. In order to make sure as many players can attend as possible i've got this survey here, so if as many interested parties could fill that out as possible, that'd be greeeeat. DA RULES SQUAD LEADERS MUST HAVE AND USE MICROPHONE NO MIC SPAMMING/TROLLING GENERAL ASSHOLERY ETC... ETC.. IF A UNANIMOUS DECISION (by other SLs) IS REACHED THAT A SQUAD LEADER IS NOT ACTING IN THE TEAMS INTERESTS THEY WILL BE DEMOTED STAY TACTICOOL I know that the Squid league finals are on during this timeframe, but hopefully we can muster up enough blueberries to have a good time anyway. I will make a follow up post on Thursday with the final date and time and Map rotation. Bill Out
