Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

So with the British Faction getting closer it'd be great to see some in the modding community make some English maps. Mapping isn't my thing so I decided to make some props. Included Items: Red Telephone Box Red Postbox Traffic Bollard Internet/BT Box (Found at the bottom of EVERY English Street) Pedestrian Crossing Post thing..? Old Caravan (Will release different textures for it soon! Old and new etc) SandBag Road Sign The pack is far from complete but I've been busy lately with the Foreign Legion Faction mod. Simply download the Uassets you want and place them directly into the squad content folder under epic games. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8cE5JFq7B_WeTMzUGZuQlVnQW8?usp=sharing - Download Please note that these are free but please do not use them outside of the squad modding community without my permision. And obviously don't sell them. Thanks for taking a look, enjoy ! Edit: You will have to relink the materials up and possibly reassign the material to each model. Babe x
Sorry if this comes across as nit-picky or nerd-levels of attention to detail. Its actually painfully obvious stuff for us, much like US equipment is for the yanks among us. It is standard British Army doctrine to have optics on all service rifles. It's not just a "preference" thing, or based on availability, or "role", but rather a core philosophy of the service. It was one of the primary design principles around the L85 (and even before that, though optics technology was still maturing). All rifles have an optic. Will we see this in squad? Obviously there are a plethora of valid points to make in terms of balance and so on, I understand this. Problem is, an SA80 without optics is correlated very heavily with "cadets" etc in the army. Even then most of them have access to the older SUSATs. It may be rather immersion breaking to use the weapon system and iron sights (for at least those of us who know). Furthermore, we all get issued a sidearm on deployment. Same thing there. They have talked about the L129A1 DMR, so the era we are looking at here really falls onto the Elcan Specter scope, or even the placeholder Acogs, not the SUSAT. Yet the SUSAT has been mentioned in the dev logs along with usage of the L85 with iron sights. Its all a bit higgledy piggledy you see.
Official Website : http://postscriptumgame.com/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/PostScriptumGame/ What is Post Scriptum? Post Scriptum is a WW2 modification for the acclaimed tactical shooter SQUAD. Players will relive the events of ‘Operation Market Garden’ across the fields and towns of Holland. This massive Allied assault consisted of a coordination of the British and American Airborne to capture key bridges while the British XXX Corps moved to reinforce them through Highway 69. However, consecutive delays in consolidating ground from the north of Belgium through Nijmegen forced the 1st British Airborne Division in Arnhem to make a stand much longer than anticipated. With no successful link between the XXX Corps and the Airborne in sight, the seventh and final bridge in Arnhem was considered lost. ‘The Bloody Seventh’ is our name for the initial focus of the project as we feel it succinctly details the struggle that the British paratroopers had to endure while waiting for their army counterpart to establish a link through the Lower Rhine. Players will be given the option to fight with the British Airborne Division, British XXX Corps or several branches of the German Army, such as the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the intense battlefield that was the Battle of Arnhem, which stretched across farms, woods, villages and city areas. Each area is being accurately recreated from archival references that range from street level to aerial images. Whether you’re jumping out of a plane, resupplying friendlies or operating a tank you will find multiple reasons to drop back into the battlefield in this grand scaled representation of a WW2 setting never explored in a large multiplayer environment. http://postscriptumgame.com/assets http://postscriptumgame.com/assets Who are we? Periscope Games is a development group that came to exist from the merging between PR:WW2 (an add-on crew from the Battlefield 2 mod Project Reality) and La Voie de La Liberté (a modding team from SQUAD). The project started in the beginning of March (of 2016) with common goals in terms of structure, recruitment and production by the respective lead developers. The team ranges from members with vast experience (with backgrounds such as Project Reality, Traction Wars, Day of Infamy, Invasion 1944 and even Hitman) to SQUAD modders that have extraordinary potential. We are always looking into adding talented members to our ranks. We believe in a balanced representation in numbers across different departments to keep the current steady pace of development. This is a good opportunity for those with a professional background to add a solid project to their portfolios and skilled modders/graduated students to tune their skills in a great working environment. If you’re interested please check out our Recruitment tab here : http://postscriptumgame.com/recruitment to check available jobs within the team. http://postscriptumgame.com/assets http://postscriptumgame.com/assets What is our concept and goals? Post Scriptum takes the common element of longing that is often expressed in the letters of soldiers to bring a more down to earth and intimate perspective of their existence. The concept takes a strong view of the men behind the uniforms rather than glorifying or creating a subliminal sense of empathy that it’s more often related to ideologies than the very nature of Man. This path will be ever present not only in our promotional ads but also in-game. We have a few ideas in mind to integrate immersive elements, traditionally reserved for single player, that will enhance the overall experience (while avoiding detrimental changes to the multiplayer gameplay). Periscope Games long term ideas for Post Scriptum include more than just a detailed WW2 setting for SQUAD. There are unique gameplay features, map layers and gamemodes in the roadmap that will be implemented (and revealed) in due time. We aim to please players that want a multitude of gameplay options along with those who wish to relive the Battle of Arnhem in a historically accurate setting. We’re taking cautious steps through development ensuring we do not bite off more than we can chew. For these reasons and others stated above we will continue to work hard to bring you a great WW2 tactical experience and hopefully earn the merit to launch our project to higher grounds. http://postscriptumgame.com/maps F.A.Q. Do you have a release date? As usual, ‘it’s ready when it’s ready’. How and where are you going to release? We will reveal such details in due time. Are you going to release your content for the modding community? In the current state, as a modding project, most likely not. Is Arnhem going to be the only place you will cover in the campaign? No. It’s in our plans to go beyond that but ‘The Bloody Seventh’ alone will be quite a monumental task. Will we be able to play with vehicles in the first release? It’s preferable not make promises of that sort while so early in development. Why aren’t you working with other WW2 mods in SQUAD? PR:WW2 initiated talks with WW2 mods in the beginning of February. The proposition would be for each lead developer to have an equal share of decision making within the project. Eventually only ‘La Voie de La Liberté’ agreed with those terms as well as sharing equal views in structure, planning and team management. Are you going to lean towards the Allies in your visual concept? We have a neutral stance regarding both factions. We will balance our promotional campaign between one and another throughout our development. The only one sided leaning element might be baseline with its ‘bloody’ British cursing but that was purposely named to have a double meaning as both sides never had full control of Arnhem’s road bridge. Will you censor Nazi symbols? It’s not in our plans to do so. We believe that every single historical element should be captured regardless of its significance. However, we can't ignore country laws in which such symbols are not allowed. For that reason we’re planning to make a censored version for players that live in countries where Nazi symbolism it’s outlawed. However, our execution of this censored version hinges on many factors, some of which may be out of our control.

Hi all, I'm posting from my phone, so apologies in advance for any abrupt explanations or typos. I've read every single thread in this forum and have been contemplating this issue for almost 2 years now. In a nutshell, I am a UK-based (Lancashire, England) PR vet since 2007 who was part of an old PR stalwart community 'Tactics & Teamwork' [T&T] back in the days of 0.5-0.8ish when we ran one of the most popular European-based servers. The community fragmented around late-2010 and I've been without a home ever since. I have not seen many UK/EU communities fill that void in that time, or those that did are now also no longer really around. A lot has changed since back then with myself specifically. Everyone eventually has 'less time to play games because of real life and growing up', but even more so significant to me is that I have a job working shifts, including weekends and nights. This means I don't get to unwind every Saturday night, and the odd weekends I do get, I'm likely to be spending time with my very-soon-to-be-wife. When [T&T] collapsed, I didn't just lose an in-game tag and a regular server, but I also lost the group of people I played EVERYTHING with, and since beginning this job 4 years ago now, it has seemed like such an uphill battle to find a new 'gaming home', a group of English speaking (not necessarily UK based) people where there is a chance whether its 7pm on a Saturday night, 10am on a Monday morning, or 2pm on a Thursday afternoon, that I can jump onto the community teamspeak, and there will be someone there to play a game with. Any game I have, not just PR or Squad. I'm a big team player, but because of my shift-work, the last 4 years of my favourite hobby have been quite 'lonely' in that I am just 'another player'. I have no 'home', no group of regulars I can trust to play assets with. I'm at the mercy of whoever has a space open. I can't promise an event or training schedule, nor am I looking for any that are mandatory. I'm all for improving my game, but not at the threat of my membership being cancelled. I'm not looking for a PR/Squad ONLY community. I enjoy other games, RTS, MMOS. I'm looking for the flexibility of friends who I don't have to leave at the doorstep unless I'm playing a particular game. Since [T&T]'s collapse I have ran a 20-man TS3 server that is frequented by my brother, our RL friends when they want to game, the person who actually recruited me into [T&T], and his rag-tag group of players he takes under his wings from the other games he plays. That's just an aside - it's a very small family and close friends TS server, but anyone here in a similar situation to me is welcome to use it - just ask me for the details. So, enough about the past, what can I tell you about me that might make any groups out there reading this want to extend an invite? PRdating.com ad below: I'm 26 and live in the North West of England (Lancashire). I have a broad accent, and am naturally very loud. I have two very distinct modes; life-and-soul (of the party), or very serious. Each attitude betrays the other in that I can come across as two different people. This is in-part because of what I do. I work for one of the UK emergency services, and my serious side comes through that - so sometimes the outright ridiculous behaviour that can come from me is simply my ability to unwind from the things I deal with day to day. Because of my shift work, my gaming patterns are sporadic. I can tell you well in advance when I will be available because my shift pattern is predictable, but EVERY week is different and I cannot tell you that there is a single night in the week when I am always available. I'm soon to be married at the start of July, and so when I do have weekends free, I am often doing something with my fiancée, but she is very understanding of my second love (gaming), and is often happy to crack on with her own hobbies whilst I do mine. She's quite content of we're just in the same room together... But this means I'm restricted on my headset due to my loudness, hence I recently bought some wireless TV headphones for her! I love all kinds of games, but mostly MMOs, RTS and FPS. My love of gaming started with Ultima Online when I was 9. It stayed with me through my teens, as did Counter Strike and TFC amongst most MMOs to ever be released (DAoC I love you, rest in peace). I played BF2 since the Gulf of Oman demo and found a group of people to play with regularly. Purely through their need for ammo at the time I ended up playing with machine gun classes and have since become a killer auto-rifleman/MGer. In my late teens I found PR, Company of Heroes, and WoW. These days I have recently returned to PR - the last time I played was in the 2 tournaments ran by Forgotten Honor in 2013-14. I am very much looking forward to squad, and also dabble in ESO and GW2 as they're free to play. I love the GTA and total war series. In PR I am trying to become an effective squad leader, often focusing on the thing that the rest of the team is ignoring (I can see when a round is being played like a 5 year old's football match and everyone, including the goalie, is just chasing the ball and not focusing on leaving the net wide open). As I say I'm a killer machine gunner, have great estimation for trajectories on LATs and Grenadiers, but am trying to get my head around the Marksman kit as an actual contributory kit to a squad's performance. I'd play Commander more if it was actually consequential to the team's efforts and wasn't just a largely ignored position involving staring at a low-res map for an hour. I prefer infantry play for 2 reasons - one, I tend to find it to be the most rewarding, and two, the lack of regular buddies to play with, combined with the prevalence of belligerent asset whores means it's not a realistic prospect for me to use assets often. That said, I'm regularly told I'm the best trans helo pilot players have ever seen. I don't do tricks, like flying upside down, but I do the job bloody well and have enjoyed doing it since BF:V. I owe my skills to using my chopper as a 'car' and skimming the roads at top speed in hueys when bored on BF:V. It was good fun nipping around trees, and I use a mouse and keyboard. Well, that's enough of a sob story and probably more than anyone needed to read, but if I'm blunt, I'm currently itching to play PR 1.3 whilst sat in a hotel room 4 hours away from home at a friend-of-my-fiancées wedding where I don't know may people, she is the bridesmaid, and the food has made her stomach topsy-turvey, so I took my queue to shoot also, and am posting this (and on other threads) whilst my fiancée sleeps like a log. Hope to hear from players, close-knit groups, and communities alike! Please re-ignite my teamwork-lead gaming. Cheers!
