Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Jibroni Gibironi posted a topic in General DiscussionAlright, I need a new multiplayer shooter to replace Battlefield 4, and no, screw BF1 or BFV, I'm just about done with E.A for a while. What about this game? I'm mostly concerned about how well this game will perform in its current state on my PC. Can I get a decent frame rate in this game with this set up on medium or high settings? Windows 10/64 bit GPU: RX 470 CPU: I7-4790K RAM: 16 GB DDR3
Sooo I had 8 GB of RAM and the game used 3-4GB of RAM memory.. The memory usage was on 70-80%. And for black friday I got myself another 8 GB... So I tried now with 16GB.. The game used 7 GB and the usage was again on 70-80% .. I mean WTF...The more you got the more will the game use... a performance update would be great...
Hi, I just spent my last money on an ASUS ROG GL752VW in order to be able to pay Squad. I know nothing about computers. I updated the drivers and everything and the game still runs with around 30 FPS whenever I'm not looking at my freakin' toes – that's with the lowest graphic settings / resolution and the video card settings adjusted to prioritize performance rather than video quality. The specs seem to be almost as good as the recommended specs for squad too; IntelCore i7 67000HQ. 8GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (Like I said I know nothing about this shiet but I think these are the important specs?) The computer is reformated and Squad is the only game downloaded. WHY ISN'T THIS GAME RUNNING SMOOTHLY, and could buying more RAM fix the problem? I appreciate any help!
Is anyone else unable to play due to a bad memory leak? I launch the game, and immediately my RAM and GPU both start steadily climbing in usage before I even get to the main screen. Once I first get on the main screen of the game, my GPU is sitting pegged at 99% usage, and my RAM is sitting at 50%-60% Usage, and continues to climb until it hits about 80%. Keep in mind this is just sitting at the main menu screen. Once I actually join a game the RAM goes all the way to 99% usage and the game is unplayable as it hitches and stutters violently. I have completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. I've also reinstalled my graphics and chipset drivers, and ensured Windows is up to date. I also verified the integrity of the game cache in steam after reinstalling the game, and cleared the game cache once I launched the game for the first time for good measure. I'm running an Intel Core i7 8700K ( at stock speeds ), 16 GB of 3000 MHz ( Stock Speed ) DDR4, and a EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ( Planning on upgrading my GPU once the next gen comes out ). I have been playing other games and using other programs without any similar issues whatsoever. As an example of a demanding title, I can play Kingdom Come: Deliverance without any similar performance issues at all so I don't think that it's an issue with my hardware? I still have some other troubleshooting steps that I would like to try, but it would help to know if anyone else is having a similar issue or could recommend any additional ideas. Here's a screenshot of my system RAM and GPU usage from squad just sitting on the main screen: Link Thanks guys!
Been getting the error stating i'm running out of video memory trying to allocate a texture. This always seems to happen at the most inopportune times, and there is no coming back as it crashes my whole game. Anyone else experiencing this? A way to fix. my specs GTX 1070 8gb 8gb ddr4 ram 1tb hdd i5 6400
Windows 10 x64 12gb ram 4gb video ram on a 970 i5 2500k SSD is fine for space No page file I get a windows popup after about 2 hours of playing squad saying im out of memory (doesn't specify video or main ram) and that I need to close programs, it offers to close programs automatically and the one time i clicked that it closed squad. If I ignore the error and leave the window open I can carry on playing, if i click cancel it pops up again a few mins later. Watching the GPU ram it sits full most of the time while in squad. Regular ram is not even close to maxed. Anyone got similar/ideas to fix?
I'm not sure what to do about this... I've uninstalled & reinstalled the game multiple times, deleting the appdata files along with it each time. After a fresh reinstall, the game will work fine for a single match. About halfway through said match, I'll get a pop up error saying something along the lines of "Error: no windowsnoeditorpak". Right now I don't have the time to re-create it. In every subsequent match I play, I get kicked out within two minutes of joining, and I'm left with an error message saying something like "Error: EAC Authentication Timed Out". I'll try to post an update tomorrow with screen caps & stuff. If anyone can decipher my rambling and figure out how to fix this issue, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
I have a I76700 GTX950 16bg ram and can provide more specs if needed. So basically i should be able to run the game on ultra right? BUT I CANT! I run the game at about 30-40 fps! Please help! I play at 1920x1080 on all low settings on forest maps i get 30-48 and on desert maps i get 50 on my favorite settings which are txxa high effects medium shadows high/epic view distance medium/low foliage. I get 38-50 fps on jungle maps but mostly 30-40 on forest maps and on desert maps i get 53-67 it moves a lot lol. I tried doing the command -useallavaliblecores but that didn't help either. So if you can help me or tell me anymore commands that would be great!
Hi, got this bug-crash once in a while, while I try to shoot a gunner on a vic down. That causes that crash. Hope it's not a hardware malfunction. Here is the screenshot: ************************************************************************************************************************************************ *********************************************** 31.08.2016 ************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************************ I've played the game with my new rig: i6700k (4,0Ghz), Gigabyte GTX1070 Xtreme Gaming, DDR4 32GB 2133-15 Ripjaws V K2 GSK (2 Modules), Win10 64bit. After leaning around a corner and getting in sight of a mg armed vehicle I got the bug again (seems like a loading failure of the trucks model or mg...)
I have played Squad for a long time on a laptop with 8GB of RAM (i7 4710HQ, GTX 850m, 1TB HDD low rpm). With the latest versions of the game, I never had any memory issues on this system, even with a couple of other programs running in the background (chrome, discord, etc...) On my desktop however, which alsohas 8GB of RAM (i5-4570, GTX 760, 250GB SSD), I am experiencing multiple ctd's with the message that there is insufficient system memory. Especially when i forget to close Chrome :D. On my desktop, I have enabled the XMP function for the RAM. Could this somehow be causing the issues?
DerMoench posted a topic in Software SupportSo when I try to join a multiplayer game, the game eats up all of the RAM. Usage goes from 1.5GB with no other application running to about 7GB where it caps. As a result I get about a frame per Minute in game, if the game loads at all, that is. Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz 2 Radeon HD 5770 in Crossfire MSI FX790-GD70 8GB of G-Skill Ripjaw RAM DDR3-1600
With my laptop, is seems like both the CPU and the RAM have some problems, but mostly the CPU. It's quite annoying since there seems to be almost NO difference with what type of settings i use. Going from Epic to Low, gives me only a small boost of 10-15 fps. Specs: GTX 960M Intel Core i5-4210H (2.90GHz) 8 GB RAM Windows 10 Average fps: Epic - 10-15 fps Low - 25-30 I know it's an alpha and there is a lot more to be done with performance. But my laptop "should" be quite capable to run this game on higher settings. Is there anyone else who have problems with graphic-settings have almost nothing to say for performance? :P
Apparently, there are some people struggling with memory (RAM or HDD) being completely filled. I myself had an issue where my Disk Usage would immediately rise to 100% from the moment i clicked the Squad shortcut. (the game would take 5 minutes to get to the start menu) After a while, I started linking the problem to windows 10 instead of Squad, and I read the following on Reddit: "I had this issue and it seems some others encountered the bug. What fixed it for me is going to settings, system, notifications, and turning off "show me tips about Windows." I believe that was the one causing problems, though I turned all of them off besides the app notifications. System processes went back down after a restart and haven't spiked since." This might sound really strange, but that did solve my problem! I don't know if it works for RAM issues too though. I really hope so. Cheers
I just upgraded to 8GB RAM from 4GB (Win10) and it makes a big difference. Without it my HDD would be working over-time to keep up with loading the terrain and not really able to keep up. I'd say performance improved 30%.
Hey Guys, Definitely considering purchasing the game (probably even helping out with the Kickstarter) however my computer doesn't work too well with other games such as Insurgency (although I can run games like ArmA III on lower settings with a decent frame rate). I'd just like to know how this game would work with the specs I have before decide to buy the game: Processor - Intel® Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz Video Card 1 - Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Video Card 2 - AMD Radeon HD 7730M Memory - 8.1 GB Operating System - Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit Thanks!
