Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.

§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts

Post Scriptum is a WW2 modification for the acclaimed tactical shooter SQUAD. Players will relive the events of ‘Operation Market Garden’ across the fields and towns of Holland. This massive Allied assault consisted of a coordination of the British and American Airborne to capture key bridges while the British XXX Corps moved to reinforce them through Highway 69. However, consecutive delays in consolidating ground from the north of Belgium through Nijmegen forced the 1st British Airborne Division in Arnhem to make a stand much longer than anticipated. With no successful link between the XXX Corps and the Airborne in sight, the seventh and final bridge in Arnhem was considered lost. ‘The Bloody Seventh’ is our name for the initial focus of the project as we feel it succinctly details the struggle that the British paratroopers had to endure while waiting for their army counterpart to establish a link through the Lower Rhine. Players will be given the option to fight with the British Airborne Division, British XXX Corps or several branches of the German Army, such as the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the intense battlefield that was the Battle of Arnhem, which stretched across farms, woods, villages and city areas. Each area is being accurately recreated from archival references that range from street level to aerial images. Are you going to release your content for the modding community? In the current state, as a modding project, most likely not. Is Arnhem going to be the only place you will cover in the campaign? No. It’s in our plans to go beyond that but ‘The Bloody Seventh’ alone will be quite a monumental task. Will we be able to play with vehicles in the first release? It’s preferable not make promises of that sort while so early in development. Why aren’t you working with other WW2 mods in SQUAD? PR:WW2 initiated talks with WW2 mods in the beginning of February. The proposition would be for each lead developer to have an equal share of decision making within the project. Eventually only ‘La Voie de La Liberté’ agreed with those terms as well as sharing equal views in structure, planning and team management. Are you going to lean towards the Allies in your visual concept? We have a neutral stance regarding both factions. We will balance our promotional campaign between one and another throughout our development. The only one sided leaning element might be baseline with its ‘bloody’ British cursing but that was purposely named to have a double meaning as both sides never had full control of Arnhem’s road bridge. Will you censor Nazi symbols? It’s not in our plans to do so. We believe that every single historical element should be captured regardless of its significance. However, we can't ignore country laws in which such symbols are not allowed. For that reason we’re planning to make a censored version for players that live in countries where Nazi symbolism it’s outlawed. However, our execution of this censored version hinges on many factors, some of which may be out of our control.

Halo so i think you hear from the new Update of Arma 3? The name is EDEN. Why i say it on Squad? As you maybe know have eden a new Audio for Battles and a GREAT Incredible Realistic one too. And hes the first game who have this. This Sound its AMAZING and Squad NEED it for sure! Why its so amazing? When Bullets fly over you had you can hear it! Its like Pocorn, we all can this from Clips over War or maybe a soldier from Irak- Afghanistan! You can this knatern and knallen like Pocorn over you had that Zing: A video or too: Sounds are extremely Important for me! And i think im not alone... In Afgahistan, the Taliban will hide behind a pile of rocks with a large rock on top of their gun and it makes it really hard for them to be seen. There is still a small hole they can see out of. Also, buildings have bullet holes everywhere, which makes awesome sniper positions, the buildings in Squad look like they never seen combat. Watch Syria war footage and see how effective they are. Very. If there is more trash that is added to the game and insurgents could place IEDs in the trash would be cool. Cows and goats and chickens in the compounds.
I was wondering if anyone here has been following the development of Star Wars: Battle Cry. https://www.facebook.com/StarWarsBattlecry It's a spiritual successor to Battlefront 2 being developed by an indie team to eventually release for free. Kinda like what was going to happen with PR2 before it went quiet. Battle Cry started on CryEngine but eventually switched over to UE4. Their development is pretty quiet as they put out an update every few months but they seem to still be working on it. The screenshots of the carbon freezing chamber look gorgeous <3
As the Tittle pretty much state my idea. Heres what would be nice to see in Squad: - A big Map :P (Fools or Kohat so far) - Add 3 Factions 50 v 50 or 75 v 75 - Within those 50v50 or 75v75, you incorporate a Common Wealth, Euro country army or etc!? :D - So it will look like this: 25 (US ARMY) + 25 (Canadians Forces) vs 50 Insurgents or militia. - And so be on! - From this faction mix, armies have their specialisties. Squad 'Battle Recorder' Suggestion is for a feature that is the equivalent of Battlefield 2's Battle Recorder. Might be hard to produce one and cause many bugs but there's some ammount of uses: Catching Cheaters, Exploiters and so onDev usage as trailerPlayer footage for game promotionBug catchingPossibly other usesIf it was to be done then try to include a rewind feature or timeline (looks at Battle Recorder with angry face). Obviously not an essential to the game but it does have it's uses in the long term yet it wouldn't be unexpected for SQUAD to not have the feature as the competition doesn't tend to have the feature as far as I'm aware.

Long Term Suggestion This is an ideological 'shortcut' to 'enhance' the development of SQUAD by speeding up the introduction of Conventional vs Conventional Battles/Combined Arms Gameplay. Depending on the specific conventional faction it can speed up the development in a variety of ways: Re-using assets already availableSelecting Assets which may be easier to produce or be available from 'free lancers', online shops and the communityLess Research or Ultra Specific EquipmentHow so? Take this basic example: Russian faction equipment is generally in many real life factions or has been exported to conflict zones creating many options or recycling ideas. The Advanced Example The advanced example would be a fictional conventional faction based on political 'drama'. The MEC of BF2 is a prime example. A unique pan arab coalition could be interesting by drawing community (mod) work and recycling BLUFOR and REDFOR assets and allows for a 'cherry picked' work load which could significantly reduce the time used in making content and testing it. Additionally, a fictional cherry picked equipment faction with an original name would give SQUAD a unique identity. For example: Is there a faction in a FPS called 'OPEC Alliance' (simplistic example). Hypotheticallly they can use recycled REDFOR and BLUFOR assets due to real life backgronds. REDFOR mainly coming from the 'outlaws' of the middle east IE Iran, Libya, Syria, Iraq (having a host of previous army equipment and donated dated-soviet equipment). Recycled BLUFOR Assets can come from 'the good guys' (which turned bad in this scenario): Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, UAE. 2 extra benefits of this Pan Arab/Middle Eastern Alliance is that it could later be used in Insurgency style gameplay and that it actually avoids things which might be seen as 'politically sensative' (IE the polar opposite would be to make an Islamic State faction and get all the publicity you need lol but with a possible bad reputation and possibility of countries blocking the sale of your game).
