      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Hello, I'm just testing out the admin commands necessary to stage a custom event. After spawning a vehicle and equiping the correct kit I was still unable to enter the newly created vehicles. "No Available Seat to enter the Vehicle" I am the only player on the server, so I think I am missing something. Also - if you can give a few hints on how to enforce special rules or setup an existing map with custom content it would be much appreciated. At the moment it seems pretty cumbersome to setup team loadouts through admin commands after each map start. Thank you Elf
  2. Just short question on admin-order "disband squad". I don’t get the point: How can I find out, what fraction what team number has? Like RUS are sometimes team 1, then team2 ... I really need a hint because I accidentally disband wrong squads....
  3. Does AdminSetRaasSeed work in singleplayer/Jensen range? If so, how do I use it? I have already tried: and: getting different cap layouts every time. Is there also any way to check the current seed for bug report purposes? And lastly, what is the accepted format for the seed number?

Alright this game is literally one of the best shooter mil sims i have ever player as a whole its great i could nitpick if i wanted to but for what it is and what its trying to do its the best however, the community is anything but they are quite literally the most cancerous community you will ever run into and if your not willing to change your name after every dispute with anybody be prepared to be banned from servers for no reason and in general harassed by people who think they know how to play the game but really have no ****ing clue. So what i am asking for is 1 or 2 servers supported solely by the developers with no admins or anything of the sort perhaps also reduce the auto team kill kick limit to like 2-3? and just let the chaos reign. being quite frank i am banned on literally 98% of squad servers do to run ins with people who want to tell me how to play the game and they dont even have 1/3 my hours and then because they own the server or know the guy who does i get banned because i didn't want to play the way they wanted me to literally. i see the servers come up during free weekends and what not so please just ad 1-2 permanent un moderated servers to squad. i realise the responses to this is just buy your own server. No. I dont want to manage a community i dont want to bother with weeding out shitty admins and legit players who got banned by them its a hassle and you have to build your server coummunity or else it will just be a dead server. But a freeform unmoderated squad server i feel would really add to the game in a couple ways. It will allow for the testing of new strategys and fob locations against an unpredictable enemy would drastically reduce the A type personality that squad seems to bring out in people unmodderated servers will really help the game grow. Why would it reduce the A typer personalitys you might ask. because people on the unmoderated server would know that there is nothing to be done about what the other guy is doing and will either result in more cohesive team work or a fragmented team that just gets steamrolled because kicking them wouldnt be an option. all in all wonderful game and if your a player who fits into one of the many communitys within squad thats great but if you dont want to conform to the way they think it should be played its not going to be as enjoyable of a game squad is also the first game i have run into that dosnt have its own free form servers but they do add them on free weekend so please add 1-2 permanent ones it will really help the game alot and the team kill kick reduction
  8. just like on the firing range, there should be an admin command that would remove the necessity to wait (for being killed or suicide) for the spawn timer to reach 0 came across this idea now that I am testing something and needed to kill myself So I am using the adminslomo right now to make the time go faster, and I have to undo this action every time, so an AdminInstaSpawn command is appreciated

  10. With the New ticket count couldn't we get the Admin command to set this so it would be a CLAN/Match choice not a map creation. Every ones got a liking to more choice.

Suggestion: Due to incidents I would like to suggest, that admins A) have the right to join a locked squad as 10th member, not to play with them, just for to talk to the guys in the squad B) Force-unlock locked Squads in order to prevent lone-sl-squads C) Forced dismissal of a SL. So he dosen't needs to be kicked any more, but be removed from charge if he/she is toxic There's a real need of those three features. Maybe implementing them is not that difficult and time consumpting

    Tag Leute, Mir ist aufgefallen das seit längerem der Rocket Technical nicht funktioniert, zuerst habe ich gedacht es liegt am Server, jedoch hat der Teci auch nicht auf dem Übungsgelände funktioniert. Man kann den Rocket pod steuern und ausrichten und sogar schiessen, jedoch fliegen die Raketen nicht und es gibt folglich auch keinen Impact, ich habe gehofft das der neuste Patch dies fixen würde, leider war dem nicht so. so oder so wollte ich euch nur schnell informieren und ich hoffe ich konnte helfen.   15. Admins in camera mode a should have button which toggles the visibility of team chat from both sides. Also, it might improve readability if instead of "[Team]" the prefix was the 3 letter abbreviation of the Player's country. Example:
  16. Any way to get a player report with ban/kick . So you wouldn't have to scroll through the log. So it would say like, Kick Odin reason ###### ( as normal) Report (list all actions of player previously said/done) Odin said "#################" Odin said "############×××××××" Odin tk. Odin tk Then this snippet saved as jpg from log. Might be nice.

  19. How about a newbie setting that shows when any tickets are lost and how it effects on the screen. An option that maybe admin could enable and an option to disable in your settings. So when you start out you see reports like admin message with team kills. Stryker Destroyed your team loses 24 tickets. 470 remain. FOB removed 20 tkts lost. 450 remain. Teamkilled lose 1 ticket. Being aware of ticket system might help with asset waste. Of course pro's will turn it off.

I would like to create some more Squad montages similar to this one where I added new blood and explosion effects.   21. Our clan currently runs three servers, and we have generated a couple of questions: 1.) Is there a way to set a server password in the config files? We have looked, but we cannot find an obvious way. At the moment, we have to log into the server and set a password after every restart. 2.) Should the AdminChangeMap command not work with just the 'changemap' permissions? We had to grant users access to the 'pause' permissions in order for them to change maps. It seems that the AdminEndMatch command is covered by the 'pause' permission, and attempts to change maps do not work if you cannot access this command, too. Any help is appreciated!
  22. Hey guys - I'm wrapping up on a trailer for Squad v8, it's a fan-made trailer. I've managed to capture an immense amount of footage in-game using bino's and on foot, but I've just been alerted to something called the 'admin' cam available to server administrators. Couple questions - are admins capable of transferring admin power / making another member of the server an admin - and if so, would the second admin also have access to an 'admin' cam? It's practically perfect for what I'm looking for in-game footage-wise, the ability to get aerial shots of some of the vehicles leaving base for example, or a battlescene overhead would be phenomenal.Second question then, is there an admin out there willing to allow me onto their server as a film/movie maker? I'm not sure what I can offer in terms of compensation outside of credits in the film when it goes to it's respective social media outlets (youtube, vimeo, etc.) But if it's a possibility, please let me know! I would be forever grateful. It's not something that would necessarily need to be ongoing either - I wouldn't expect to keep the status after I was finished filming for example. Thanks in advance, a personal message or reply works fine here - I really am hoping someone can help me out! Cheers.
  23. Me and my squad have encountered today an abusive admin. We were playing and one SL was kicked, i inmediately took the SL and one admin came, i started talking with him, i was surprised and i talked to him in a nice way explaining the situation that some of us talk english and obviously the SL talks always english. He was talking in a very rude way and insulting us, with racist lines and blaming us the lack of "skill". I tried to calm down the situation by saying that im sorry that some of my squad members didnt have the ability to talk english, and that we had to try to help us in the community by being open minded and not kick and ban an entire squad because, inside the squad my team mates were talking my native idiom. This resulted into me getting banned, for 1 month (that's what some of my teammates told me) and more of us got banned. I find it very disturbing that i had to find myself and my teammates in this situation and im sorry that i have to report this. I hope we get to a pacific solution and try to resolve this situation.   24. Is there a server command to kick afk/unassigned player. Player a game today 10 afk/unassigned on our side so 30 vs 40 which spikes the balance. Also could we get team balance of unassigned. Or ar these settings planned
  25. Server admin scammer

    Hello developers, I'm ThePsychologist, admin from the spanish community Squad Spain, recently we had contact with a person (THIS GUY IS CALLED <AHPOS> iSi7 ® ) who carried a server for us, "not charging money" only wanted some donations for the posibility to continue with the server. This turned to be a scammer because he was hiding information and donations that went directly into his account without our knowledge. One of our players told us that donated him 80€, thing that this guy didnt said to us. All the servers that he "hired" only lasted for weeks and the Ip changed a lot (which probably means that he is changing provider all the time or are trial servers). Said this, the guy who payed 80€ wanted to help our community (he was tricked by this guy disguising himself as an admin or an important person in our community), but seeing that he couldn't"make money" with us he created another community ( Squad Hispano ) to recruit new people to see if they fall into his tricks. Long story short his server is [ES] <AHPOS> SPAIN SQUAD. I would like to contact any admin to see if we can do something with this guy that is trying to sacm more people. Thank you for the help.
