      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  2. Helicopters

    This may be an ignorant question so I apologize in advance. I was a fan of PR and it is the main reason that led me to buy squad during their kickstarter campaign. I have been really looking forward to helicopters being added to the game. To be honest I have only played the game a small amount since I have had access. But I was wondering if anyone knew when helicopters would be out. Thanks TLDR: When are helos coming?
  3. Have noticed an increase of first flag rushes, The extreme was last night on Gordok BTR rush for militia first flag, joined to the delight of BTR / stomping miliitia. To the point that Russia capped everything. A slow starting pub side tends to need more time at the start to get going . Sumar has US doing crazed Mosque rush too and insurgancy to market. These rushes require organised players which pub sides dont have. Staggering spawn might mean more chance for pub based game not being fought on starting flags. And the demoralising effect it has on game play. This happened for a time with PR. Can we get staggered armed start. Timings Logstistic first Techs & Hummers 5mins AFV 10min Armour 15mins It's not the new larger maps its the crazed middle sized maps that have rushes. I just think it destroys game play. Perhaps stop any ticket bleed till half way through round time. Happy gaming
  4. It feels frustrating not to be able to fully look around and behind oneself when sitting in a vehicle. No matter where I am in the vehicle, I should always be able to look behind me.
  5. I would like to suggest a system that allows you to despawn back at main base. One of the main reasons vehicles are not brought back to main base when the squad doesn't need it any more (usually supply truck or transport) is because the driver would have to walk all the way back to the squad and the whole process could take 10 min or more. The alternative is to suicide, but that would cost a ticket, you have a long respawn time and I don't think we want people to suicide just because it's a long walk. Let the player walk up to the main base radio and use the radial manu to despawn without costing a ticket and no respawn time. This way he can spawn on the squad's rally or a near by FOB after completing his mission to secure the vehicle back at the main base.

  8. With unclaimed vehicles that are around some maps does the enemy loss tickets if destroyed. I mean the vehicles that are around the map that haven't been claimed.(insurgency maps) If not veichles that have been taken then dropped off at fob so as no longer claimed are they cassed as non ticket assets .

  10. Tank "backblast"

    Once the implementation of heavier equipment is added I have the suggesting of adding a cone of fire where if a friendly or enemy is standing i=close enough to the tank barely they get their ass killed or knocked out rag doll style. I know arma ACE mode has this and I think it would be a good feature for squad no infantryman would survive being near that big of a boom even if they got hit, adding this feature would add really good sense of teamwork
  11. Just wondering does the having extra players riding on the outside cause vehicles to bug out, & causing lagging. Seems every time I seen it theres afterwards been complaining. Or is it coincidence?

  13. We just had a situation on our server where apparently a Squad Leader and squad member were not able to enter a claimed vehicle, while the rest of their team could.

  15. New V7 Update Feedback

    Without further ado, Infantry: Me and my people played the game all day today, and oh boy, did we have some fun. We were waiting for this since the release on Steam. The infantry speed, and body momentum is absolutely amazing. The enemy cannot evade bullets anymore like mosquites or Neo from Matrix. And when you run up the hill you are slower. All this enables some highly tactical environment, and enables the kit system to really start to shine. No FOB spams either aswell. There are various small animations in the game like when you are crawling on the ground, theres new animation for weapon, or when you jog or sprint your weapon animation is new (better and real), all these small things makes it even better. The infantry formation finally is starting to work smoother because of all that. The gunfights are intense. And squads that fight individually die fast, to quote you ''Alone on this battlefield, you will die''. The new US models are outstanding. FOBs: The deployables are stackable again! Thank you so much! The sandbags that is... with the cool shoot-holes. We did make some use of it aswell. We would only wish for HESCOS to be stackable, or a preset of 2 blocks of HESCOS high and 4 wide, so the enemy cannot jump over it (or other variations of it, but it needs to be 2 hescos high...). The DShK's and 50 cals need a little zoom though (shift to focus type of zoom for them to be effective on range like they should be), because now they are not really that effective, we are constantly trying to employ them, but its not working out if you are blind on them. When you mount them you are a semi-sitting duck on them, waiting to get sniped. When they should be feared emplacements and avoided from front... currently they are not that. UI: The new UI for Squad Leaders is very nice. Even though I don't know what to think about marking things with UI yet. Vehicles: They changed the whole game, I love them. The damage model is a placeholder as I heard, and it should not be a finished version in my eyes. When they explode, it looks so good. The gunner on the Fifty needs some zoom option. The models looks and fits really nice in the game. I would wish that the BTR-80 get a little bit of dirt on their tires, I suppose thats small texture work that can be done with no problem.   17. I've had several rounds where we start at main base with 3 full squads... and there's 2 humvees and 1 logi. Also the armed techies seem to be prioritized over transport vehicles for militia (4 armed techies, 1 techie, 1 logi), and considering it takes a lot more skill and tactical awareness to use the armed techies they just die and turn into a bunch of wasted tickets. Long story short, it turns into a high tension scenarios for all squads involved while they yell at each other and scramble to claim vehicles (possibly resulting in TKing or making it harder for some of the more immature players to work together until they finally get over it)
  18. Okay, I'll post a stat unit in a minute when I find a server that isn't full/disconnecting people. A few things I've noticed in the last ~10hrs of Squad. Depending on the server, vehicles run very choppy. FPS has tanked, which is a widespread issue. I don't know how many other people suffer from this, but when playing my gun won't shoot, I often have to click 3-5 times before it will fire a single shot. I know it's not my mouse, it's brand new and I also play Insurgency and other games. In Single Fire, the gun plain won't shoot about 5/6ths of the time I click. In Full auto, once it does decide to shoot it's fine as long as I hold it down, but initiating another burst is subject to the same problems as single fire. It doesn't seem to affect single-shot weapons like RPGs and while the pistol was laggy, it still shot (albeit with some delay) each time I clicked. These issues need to be resolved, the game has been fantastic and I'm excited for vehicles - even if people have no clue how to use them properly yet / leave all the teams assets abandoned all over the map >_>
  19. When entering vehicles the camera is placed inside the skull of the player model, making it difficult to see. This stays even after you exit the vehicle too. Only vehicle working fine is the BTR. Only tried in Jenses Range.

    I am really excited that vehicles are so close to release and have watched a good few videos about their v7 play testing. In none of those videos though did I see vehicle mirrors that showed reflections. As drivers only have a 1st person view I'd say it was pretty important that they have some idea what's behind them when they have to reverse. Para showed in his recent video about logi how important it was to be able to back out of situations if needed. Will we have functioning mirrors in the future? It could be that mirrors have different quality levels or be able to turn them off completely through the post processing levels so performance issues can be negated for lower tier systems.

  23. Not sure if this is already brought up, but here we go. Right now, one of the things that I am a bit salty talking about Squad is FOB system. Some magic points are gathered and then "lets deploy this FOB here because we can in the middle of nowhere". So, can someone from team can answer, will we get proper logistics running with logistic trucks, creates to build and request things from them when trucks come out?
