Forum Rules 07/06/2016Introduction The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party. Section I: Posting Rules §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users. §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with. §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time. §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics, etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal. §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest. §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs. §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense. §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
§9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
§10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge. §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings. §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed. Section II: Reporting & Moderation §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments. §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules. §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly. §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

Hi everyone, I'm from the Philippines and I just purchased Squad. I am very active in my local Arma group, but neither my friends in Steam nor in Arma can give me feedback on the status of Squad playing from my country, and I'm quite anxious if it is gonna be worth it especially after seeing all the youtube videos and finding out that they mostly play in American or European servers. I'd really like your inputs on this especially from people who are playing from SEA like me. Is it gonna be worth it playing from SEA? Is it feasible to play on western servers from SEA (I have little to no problem playing PUBG on any of the servers and my ping to official Arma servers (US) is around 130+)? The two-hour margin granted by Steam to test a game before asking for a refund becomes subjective, is just too narrow of a margin for a complex game such as Squad so I want as many inputs as possible before I click that Play button and start the clock. Thanks, everyone!

Hello I am a console gamer and I have recently noticed that consoles don't have ANY realistic war games. And I am looking to buy a computer solely to play Squad. Now, Me being the noob I am I know nothing about gaming computers and laptops and I'm looking for advice on whether or not there is a laptop/desktop that has and or exceeds Squads system requirements that is READY TO GO without having to buy a certain graphics card or something along those lines. Ill reiterate once more I'm a noob and I don't know jack shit about building a PC. If the Squad community can help me so I can get into the battle ASAP that would be awesome. Thanks! PS Please email me at: [email protected] [email protected]
I am a 14 year old and have always been nervous about communicating in games because of toxicity. This game caught my eye because I have always wanted a game that captures that teamwork ethic while maintaining some sort of realism. Other games just haven't worked for me. Which brings me to my point, can a younger teenager play this game with out getting kicked from a squad or getting chastised for being younger. I would gladly follow orders and communicate at proper times in proper ways, but I am worried. Thanks, Locutis
Looks like community mostly consists of Insurgency and CSGO players. Vehicles are never used, and if some uses them they are either dead (rly? it takes shitloads of lat hits to kill an apc) or flipped somehow or left behind ( again rly? if you leave an supply truck or apc behind in PR, you get banned) At least have some standarts for your community(talking to server admins here) or leave the retarded vehicle claim rules behind. Used to do some trans for fun in PR AND IT DIDN't REQUIRE 3 ****ING PEOPLE TO GET IN THE HELI.
LegendaryTrev posted a topic in Questions1. In all of the videos I have seen of squad sniper gameplay, there is a semi-automatic rifle with an ACOG scope. Will there be a possibility for a true bolt-action rifle with a real sniper scope? 2. Will alpha testers get something to show that they are an alpha tester (A patch on a uniform or something of the sorts)? (Not necessary, but cool). 3. Are most of the servers 50v50? I've been told lots are 35v35. 4. Does squad plan on adding helicopters and CAS in the future (By full release)? 5. How many maps does squad currently have? 6. Are people friendly to new people? For example, could I play alone, join a squad and have people be welcoming and helpful to me? 7. How do kits work? For instance, in project reality there is a sidebar when joining a squad to select a kit, but also a supply crate that allows you to get kits. Please answer as many as possible if you are thinking about replying. Thanks.

Hello to all you fellow squadmates. I've just started this game and I love it. I've become a very fast learner and have already got a handle on what it takes to be a good medic. I love the depth this game already shows despite how early in development it is. I've played in about 10-12 matches in the 2 days I've owned this game and am hooked. I hope to see a lot of you guys out on the battle grounds and maybe even be your squads medic if I'm lucky.
Hey guys and gals! Im sherman227 (sherman229 / [AA] Don Piano) everywhere else and i am the owner of Anarchist Anonymous! We are a small clan looking for noobs or experienced players wanting a tactical play style to join us in Squad! We have a server and a teamspeak. all the info for them can be found on our website http://www.anarchistanonymous.com Fill out a recruitment forum and tell us about yourself Till then stay safe out there!
Hey guys, I can see there are a lot of clans out there, and I've just started playing Squad (mainly because I like co-ordinated gameplay), Been having fun on some servers. Just looking to see if there's a Clan/Regiment/Platoon that would best suit me. I used to be an NCO in a Napoleonic Wars Regiment (not that I'm looking for that kind of authority), and I really like the idea of progression through the ranks, I also like the idea of organised play (clan vs. clan competitive) and training evenings. I am 30 based in the UK (I know time differences will rule out certain clans) and I am friendly. My preferred role in the current status of the game would be medic (however, I'm not opposed to other roles). I would prefer to have a role in an armoured vehicle, but I'm not sure if, or when they'll be introduced. Other games I play include; War Thunder, Red Orchestra, Company of Heroes (have the whole series) Men of War (have the whole series) Survarium, Heroes & Generals. Are there any groups that would best suit me, that can show me the ropes? Many Thanks
Lads I have something that I wanted to say to try to explain what I see happening, and what I expect to see more of in the future. It has to do with new squad leaders. Bear with me here but I feel like this is a valid point and it would behoove everyone to at least think about it while in-game before throwing around insults and what not... So, I feel like we're at a point now where there will be players 'stepping up the the plate' to take the role of SL. A lot of these players are proficient at the game and know the basic in's and out's of what needs to be done to succeed. They just don't have the practice as a SL as of yet. A lot of these guys, as members of a squad, are good at following orders and killin the bad dudes and they feel like they're at a point where they can do an ok job at SL. Some may not have the 'tactical' mindset to be one of the 'top' SL's (they think that all you have to do is throw down a FOB and hit the enemy head-on). Some may take up the roll, be ok at it but see that their team isn't faring well, so they start to focus on trying to kill more bad dudes as they think that it would help out the team. Unfortunately this is where the cohesion of that squad falls to the wayside. Instead of berating the SL for not 'doing his job' properly, perhaps it falls on the squad members to pick up their game, slow the pace down and play more rationally!? (remember this isn't CoD or BF). Perhaps the best course of action would be to politely inform that SL that it's imperative that he 'steps back' so to speak and focuses on maintaining situational awareness of friendly and enemy positions alike and maintaining those all important rallies/FOB's. It may sound stupid by sometimes the most 'tactically sound' move to make is the move that doesn't see you in vicious combat. *Just 1 point I can't stress enough to SL's, if it's an AAS game mode, for the love of god, 1 squad attack and at MINIMUM half a squad defend! To those new to the SL roll, I know it sucks but it's your roll to assist your squad the best way you can so they can do the killing and all the fun stuff. Me personally, I only SL for a few rounds at a time as I don't mind the job and hell I was one IRL for a few years. I find it amazingly rewarding (when I have a competent squad), but unfortunately all too often I find myself pulling my hair out. The best advice I can give you is if you're keen to SL or even try out the roll, do it for 1 or 2 rounds and then go back to being a thumb in bum rifleman for a few. You'll find that it recharges your batteries for when you are SL so you can perform at a better standard, as you're not burnt out and frustrated. Don't be disheartened if you jump on as a SL and your team loses. This by no means indicates that you were bad at your job, it just means that your team was out-played by the other. Keep dabbling in the roll when you get the chance. If anything, it will remind you that sometimes it's hard to lead a random bunch of dudes from all over the world, from all different walks of life and from all age groups.
Hey everyone! I played Squad Alpha today for the first time. I really enjoyed playing the game. When I first spawned, I had no idea what to do.. I was playing with my friend and apparently was the Squad Leader. We both had no idea what to do, but luckily we had a nice squad member who explained us almost everything. After playing one game, my friend became a Rifleman so a more experienced squad member could become Squad Leader. He gave us the plan, said what we had to do and what not to do. First we regrouped and then we pushed over the hill, we got under heavy fire and we suffered some casualties. We fell back since we lost both medics in the firefight while they were trying to revive / heal wounded squad members. We entered the compound to prepare for the incoming Tango attack. All this under direct command of the Squad Leader. It was really awesome! I did have some problems while playing, it could be just me or it could be some known issues. - I once got stuck in a doorway while trying to run through the doorway - The recoil in Semi Automatic firemode was kinda hard to handle - It was hard to see enemies from 150m+ - Server sided lag - Grenades are like mini-nukes Please don't see this as criticism, I'm just trying to help, also sorry for my English, it's not my native language :) I just wanted to share my first experience playing Squad. I really look forward to the full game. Bye! Edit: Another issue I forgot to mention There appears to be some invisible walls in some of the windows of buildings, you can't shoot through it or throw grenades through it. (I found out the ward way :D) Edit 2: It could be my graphic settings, causing me not to see enemies from 150m+. I don't know, when I have time I'll try to figure it out!
Hi all! I came across a 'Squad' video on Youtube and as a ARMA series player I have to say it looks extremely exciting. After watching just a few videos and reading on the site I just purchased the 'Squad Leader Tier Package' as this was the highest available on the website. Gutted to have missed out on the Pre Alpha! Either way, I'll see you all on the battlefield at the earliest possible opportunity.
