      Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
      Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
      If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
      As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
      Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
      Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
      Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
      Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
      Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here. 
        §10 Images in posts
      When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
      .gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
      Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
      Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
      Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
      It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
      There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
      Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
      Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
      Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
      If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
      You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. What about SVCh?

    Hello. I have a question about a new cool marksman rifle SVCh (Chukavin sniper rifle): will it be added to the game instead of SVD in Russian army? SVD is now gradually replaced with SVCh and it's much more effective and etc. than SVD. It can be opposed to M110 that unbalanced to SVD a lot, so marksman in Russian army is pretty awful

The suggested features list (in order of importance); 1 - Reverse prone (ie, lay on your back) 2- Prone rolling (belly down to belly up) 3 - Weapon resting 4 - Emergency reloads 5 - Staged reloads 6 - Sprint dive and/or sliding The explanation: 1 - Reverse Prone (lay on your back) Being able to lay on one's back side is tactically advantageous in certain situations. It's a good way to get out of the way of bullets or team members in a jiffy, or get low while putting a bullet in that tango that just ran around the corner into your face. Being able to roll from belly down to a belly up position means you can check your six and stay low to the ground. 2 - Prone rolling Obviously in full combat gear with a pack, rolling around like Solid Snake isn't feasible. However, being able to roll halfway or 3/4 means a soldier has room to look between his feet (6 o' clock) or to the side (3/9 o' clock) without having to reorient his entire body in an awkward shuffle or magical rotation. Even when wearing a pack, one could still roll onto their bum faster than getting up into a crouch. 3 - Weapon resting We all understand that running a kilometer and steady aim do not go together. That's why rifles have had such long forends or "handguards"; A soldier rests his rifle. This is why shooting in the prone is so stable. If you see a boulder, window sill, tree or other stable surface then you rest your weapon in order to get a good shot. Muscles alone aren't that great at holding a bead on a 200 meter speck. 4 - Emergency reloads If you're in trouble and out of ammo, it might save your butt to just drop that empty mag on the ground and focus on getting more bullets on target. Any ammo left in that mag is left behind, but thirty rounds is ten times more than three (and you might need that extra ammo to survive this encounter). 5 - Staged reloads Remember that time you had to cancel a reload animation (right at the last moment) to knife some fool, only to return to a replay of that reload you just nearly completed? If you drop your rifle mag then need to quickly draw your secondary, your rifle shouldn't have a magazine still in it when you return to your reload. One step of the reloading process was already complete, but the single animation sequence has to complete in order for the reload to complete. I propose a much more convoluted, complicated, sophisticated, technically complex system of staged reload animations for small arms in Squad. Not just for "realism", but tactical depth and quality of life. 6 - Sprint diving and/or sliding Being able to slide or dive into cover is a great way to get low and get to cover quickly. It's also fun and really cool. Thanks for reading! Hope we see some of these features in the future.
  3. Hey, While local voice sometimes differ, mostly echo wise, depending on whether you are outside or indoors, gun shots sounds are not affected at all by the environment. I find this to be very lacking in the whole immersion experience. Indoors gunshots should be booming, short, and somewhat deafening, in the border of good taste. Cheers

I dislike so much the "forced zoom" that was introduced in v10, please allow us to not be forced to zoom in when all I want is simply ADS no need for the zoom, it's annoying, make it like PR please then again, when I want is to "focus" for a clear shot, I have even more zoom, please, all I want is to be steady, not to zoom in 1x in the target there is no scope in the gun, then I dont want the zoom my suggestion, is to unbind the "forced zoom" from the "focus" (gun steadiness), maybe in the menu we can choose, so we can disable it then, when disable, it would be like this: Right click: ads (no zoom) Shift: steady (no zoom) please, you fixed the nametags, maybe you can do this too? give the hardcore players this... thx edit: also, having the screen moving forwards and backwards everytime is horrible for CQB

  6. would it be possible to zero the gun on the go? without having to aim first? sometimes I am moving, and just want to zero it without having to aim first could do it simply pressing X, instead of aiming then pressing X
  7. Gun placing on cover

    So, I mostly play as a sniper and I often find myself in a situation, where I got someone on the crosshair and I shoot and hit the ground right near my gun. Yeah, I know that my scope is above the barrel. I want a gun movement automatically made by the character when the rifle is pointing at a wall-he either tries to put it over and use it to have more stable aim, or just putting it next to his chest. And my situation is totally not the only one. When for example I go to a balcony, mostly there are like 2 inches that take away the perfect view. In real life I could just stand up a little bit, or just displace my gun to a better position. I am sure I'm not the only one experiencing this.

    Hello Squad community, I am still new to squad and I wanted to suggest a idea that might of already been suggested many times before. As far as I am aware there are no holographic sights in the game, I think you should add the sight on the Russian/US troopers on certain classes. Thanks.

  10. Repair Station mechanics

    To keep consistent with the realism philosophy, I suggest that repair stations should not repair vehicles that are occupied or at the very least, when the gunner seat is occupied, the repair should stop and should not start again for 30 seconds after a gunner leaves the gunner seat. People are camping vehicles at repair stations making the game a little like battlefield, though the repair time is long for vehicles - it breaks the spirit of the game. Example of request: If a vehicle pulls up in range of the repair station with no man in the gunner seat, the repair station begins repairing. If a vehicle pulls up in range of the repair station with a gunner in the gunner seat, the repair station does nothing. If a vehicle is in range of the repair station and a gunner leaves the gunner seat - a 30 second time starts and at the end of the 30 seconds repairs start. If a vehicle is repairing at a repair station and a man enters the gunner seat, repairs stop and the counter does not start until the gunner leaves the gunner's seat.

Hello , My friend have this problem - When he try to fire , he need to click left mouse/touchpad button for like 3-4 times to get one shot or weapon is firing with big delay (2-4 sec after click). After he switched to automatic mode , after one click on left mouse button/touchpad gun started firing in bursts not in fully automatic mode. He is playing on notebook with external USB mouse but touchpad doing same thing... Game for him is unplayable , can anybody help him to solve this problem ? * ( i think is not related to FPS - around 40 on 60 players server ). This not happens in other games , not hardware related too. Tried in firing range (SP) , other servers did not solved problem. * I tried to search this problem on forum but can't find any fix for this
  12. Making it so you will lower whatever you're holding by double tapping CTRL (or another key) will make it a lot easier to avoid missfires in base and make a more realistic look while patrolling and walking around. Sorry if this has been suggested.

I haven't seen anyone talking about this yet so i guess i'll make a post about it V6 is a pretty good update, although i didn't notice any significant difference in my game, i do appreciate the devs working hard. However, I do have a question for the devs or people that know about game design How long does it take to make a create a weapon and add it to the game?? I have seen textured models of PPSH-41 and some other un-textured ones like the shotgun and G3 and the new M110, If the model is made, how long does it take for us to actually get to play around with it?? Like adding the reload animation and other things... I know this is probably not on the priority list for the devs but if the current bullet ballistics exists, we should be seeing some new addition of weapons soon right?? (assuming that ballistics of PPSH-41 is not much more different than 9mm pistol rounds, and 7.62x54r and 7.62 nato round isn't all that much different in performance??)

  16. Who else thinks it would be a wonderful idea to add the proper gear animations? Right now, the character pulls a standard mag out of his vest.. I would love to see the amount of mags you have actually be on the vest, and everytime you reload, you pull from a different spot, and the mag in the vest is gone.. Would be a freaking amazing cherry topper animation/feature :)

    I think that a good way to make everyone happy(people who want only realism, and people who want to be able to customize their shit), a good compromise would be to have either a side feature or maybe somebody could make third party software to make a custom skin for squad. The only thing being that other people do not see the skin, they only see the regular skin. This would keep the people who want realism happy and the people who want customization. The only thing is that there might be problems with people making their sight a bright color. But the simple fix to that problem is to have a 'modable' part of the gun that can be changed, not including the sights and other parts that would be OP. You would be able to import pictures to add to the gun or draw your own, and transparent would not show up as transparent. I will try to make some visuals later when I have access to my own comp. Also I did use the search function and the only person who posted this in another thread was me, I wanted to make it it's own topic. Please tell me your thoughts.
  18. We recently let the devs know that the gun sounds were perfect and spot on. But it seems that recently they have been replaced. I thought that recent sounds were "off" a bit, and the monthly update confirmed that the gun sounds were redone. I am requesting that possibly they and Anders might consider going to the original first person sounds of the m4, ak, and rpm, as I have never heard gun sounds in video games as real as those. I was afraid of them altering the gun sounds from that perfection.
  19. Hello everyone! The Squad HYPE is real right now for us all! I suggested long ago on the forums that we should have gun skins for early backers. It turns out this actually happened, which is awesome! The inspiration (copy) was from big FPS games that include more customization for weapons, like camos. When i was suggesting this i didn't want a tone of customization btw It just sounds like a nice way for early backers too stand out from the crowd a little. I've seen the camos for Squad backers already, I think there great! However i was thinking of something slightly different... As you can see the image shows a shuttle camo. The wood on the AK is lighter and there is markings on the gun with the word Founder. This is too help backers stand out alittle more than the current AK texture, without looking too insane. Give me your thoughts below, good or bad i dont mind If you all like it, maybe the devs will tweak there current AK look for backers (making a more lighter version). Normal players: Dark wooden AK with no markings Backers: Light wooden AK with small markings Cheers - Daruth505 This is only a tweaked texture from an already made texture and model, i do not call this as my own work.
