      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  1. Squad Standard Servers?

Hey all, I've been playing squad for a little over two months now and I absolutely love it, but I've only been able to play once since the vehicle update. My fears were realized in that people would flock to the game once vehicles were added and servers would be all filled up. Now all of the servers near me are either empty or completely full. That leaves me to join servers with crazy high ping and different languages than my own. And I'm not going to join a server/clan because I've heard too much negativity about them and I don't wish to pay to be in one. So my question is, will Squad add their own servers and a lot more of them and that?

  3. Can Squad be the game where..

I just read one of these "I got banned from server X" thread. It were a happy ending story this time between the parties involved. What I did read between the lines it got solved because of someone from the party of the server owners did see the post. Well there is this old basic ruling, that the appeals and sorting involved these kind of things belongs to player and server owner, now again this thread I took as an example someone posted the owner communitys internet address . I have been wondering why on earth. Why I would go to some 3rd-party forum and create an account there (if even possible) [mind you I'm member of the server community forums of my example case, if someone is connecting lines, so I don't need a education]. Could Squad be a reasonable game community and game that requires that every server have subsection on here at official forums which is the no1 route of all these sort of communications, not 3rd party (sometimes really fishy "clan sites"). Majority of the servers already have their own thread in servers section of the forums, but it is more of act of good will than official requirement. Should it be official requirement for server owners? ... communication between players and server owners / maintainers is 1st through the official game forums. Not 3rd party at times fishy clan pages.
  4. Right now there are mostly 72 player servers where I get FPS from 28 to 45 which is frustrating as hell and really hard to play and aim. I was playing in a server which had 25 vs 25 and my fps was around 60-80 and the game felt completely different, I could actually control my recoil and control the SAW rounds. We need more servers that don't allow more than 50 players! The game feels so much better then, right now the animation system is SO BAD that my i7 4770k fries when we have 72 players in the server. Just consider guys. This game is not ready for 72 players, not even close.
##ENGLISH VERSION## This server mainly aim to the french squad community which longs to play without the inconvenients of joining a team. We have several good Squad Leaders who play regulary on our servers, but sadely for now they are mostely french and not very often lead english speaking squad. This doesnt mean we are close to over nationality squad. Here you will find the main rules of the server : -No lonewolfing : We doenst admit ppl joining a squad and just leaving it for getting their kit and playing alone -We ask squad leaders to talk in english in squad leader channel for allowing all nationality to play and coordinate together -Put a nationality tag in your squad name for helping ppl finding their native langage squad, only squad leaders must speak in english -No castle building, we dont accept team going in a corner of the map making a big castle for enjoying a minecraft time, we allow defensive FOB for taking pics over looking importants valleys, cutting spawn ennemy lines or defending flags -Squad must try their best for playing the objective, we dont ask you to be pro always on the front line, but not to be afk 85% of the game chasing some gosth -Basic like in all servers : no racism, tk, cheat, bashing of any nationality... Thank you for reading, hope to see you soon
  6. Voip Lag

Just wondering Is the voip run as part of squad with the program or is it separate process? Ask for there seems to be lot of breaking up of Voip at different times, maps and servers. Could be better separated as previously done with PR mumble?
  7. Servers are terrible.

Every server with players is at like 200 ping for me. Are there just no NA server?
  8. We applied for a server before Christmas, but have yet to here a response as to whether our application was successfull. Could you please respond or send me a pm to confirm the current status of our application.
  9. I bought and installed the game on steam today. I was in the initial loading screen for 8 minutes and then I tweaked graphics for my computer. Then I went into training and was stuck in the keyboard layout screen for 5 minuses until I decided to just get dinner. Came back 15 minutes later and it just loaded in, everything was fine I learned the controls, etc., it war pretty much like PR with much better graphics. Then I was like "alright let's go into a server!" I waited for 20+ minutes before I got "lost connection to host." Then I was like ok let's try one if these New York servers since I live in CT. I just waited 35 minutes before I got the same message. I verified my game file caches and deactivated my firewalls and anti-virus like the forums said to do. But still nothing. I want my money back if I can't join a server tomorrow.
  10. hi guys,i have a huge problem, every time that i try to join in any server, after a long wait(20 min more less) the "lost connection to host" apears! The only thing that i can play is the mission training (and works fines,60 fps ,no lags). I tried everything ,turn off the Firewall,anti-virus ,Re-install the game, turn off the modem and turn it on again and nothing works! Please Help me ,i really want play this game! ps:Sorry about my bad english
  11. Lost Connection to host

Every time that i try to play in any server this mesege apears to me "lost connection to host" ,btw in my server browser i only see 7 servers! please help me!
  12. I've been on the game twice now with servers with no one on, and it normally takes about 3 minutes to load up the game and Server Browser depending on what I have running. So would it not be a good idea to have some sort of tab on the website that shows a list of all the servers and their population? It would save a lot of time especially when the servers are inactive :)
  13. As the Tittle pretty much state my idea. Heres what would be nice to see in Squad: - A big Map :P (Fools or Kohat so far) - Add 3 Factions 50 v 50 or 75 v 75 - Within those 50v50 or 75v75, you incorporate a Common Wealth, Euro country army or etc!? :D - So it will look like this: 25 (US ARMY) + 25 (Canadians Forces) vs 50 Insurgents or militia. - And so be on! - From this faction mix, armies have their specialisties. Squad please make this even if you are in developement please! ;)
  14. 24/7 Insurgency servers

Well. I am sure it got already reported but I would really like to have the 24/7 Insurgency servers to have ONLY INSURGENCY... and not A.S.S or PASS logar as example. Which mean that the rotation needs to be Logar Night / Dawn / day + Kohat / Dawn / Day Insurgency 24/7. ============================================================================ While being at it from my post for the Forest map (http://forums.joinsquad.com/topic/6940-forest-map-ideas-feedback/) It will be quite &*!"%/*!&"/?&*! nice to have insurgency on Forest! :D . I understand it will be a cluste*"/$"/$ but it would be a different gameplay in overall. In case, here's a few cache locations you should implement if you do so: http://imgur.com/8lNAYs0 Sry for my superb talent artirst. However, if we implement more assets, well you can put caches in the villages as example. My 2 cents.
  15. The March update page refers to accepting donations still to help maintain server costs etc. I look forward to donating as soon as my tax returns arrive which I recently filed, but I would also be interested in the server administration side of things, and was hoping to get some conversation going about servers. What operating system(s) are you guys running your alpha servers on? I noticed that some of the features (medical, newtonian physics, ?) are going to be processed server-side. Obviously as the server's computational tasks are expanded the hardware required to meet this task needs to be more powerful. What is the ball-park specs on your alpha build servers? How are they performing? What are their bottlenecks? (mem/CPU/Disk-IO/Net-IO) What are your plans for community hosting? Do you plan to enforce a hardware minimum to ensure play quality for consumers? If the server side specs are rather accessible, what kind of documentation already exists for a UE-4 Dedicated Server? Is there going to be a need for custom server-management man-pages/docu? --- As someone who hosts and mods some various other servers I am as interested in this side of the game as the other. Thanks for answering any of these questions. I feel it getting closer...
  16. I'd like to see a webpage that lists current running servers and populations. I don't know how everyone else does it but my gaming machine is upstairs and if I feel like playing I have to go upstairs turn the machine on and load the game to see if there is anyone in game. I'd be more likely to play if I could just look at a page and see that there is a server with people in it.
  17. No Servers.

Hey, i just bought this game and downloaded it. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem with no servers showing up on the server list. Or is it something i need to do to fix it.
  18. I get around 200-800 ping on any Non-US server and unplayable lag. I know there are tons of US players who have no problems on the Non-US servers. When I look at the scoreboard, it seems like plenty of people have pings within my range and are playing just fine. Why would they be able to play with such high ping but mine is unplayable? I have low end hardware, so maybe my hardware cant compensate for the affects of the high ping? Maybe its a connectivity issue and a change I can make on my router/modem? Any Ideas? I play just fine on US servers with ping around 60 and good FPS. I have an above average connection at home. Here is the embarrassing part where I admit I have the basic Alienware Alpha model. It does play the US servers just fine though on medium!!! Note the generic "NVidia GeForce GPU" what does that even mean? PC CPU 2.9GHz Intel Core i3 4130T PC Memory 4GB DDR3 SDRAM 1,600MHz Graphics Nvidia GeForce GPU Storage 500GB 5,400rpm HDD
  19. Servers just go down?

Did the servers just go down because my game just went from being in game to the login screen and now I cant login?
  20. Suggestion: Can we put up one "training" server once we hit the Closed Alpha (or even from now)? What do I mean by "training server"? It's just an ordinary game server, only the name is different and how we play on it. Instead of calling the server "Pre-Alpha [London, UK #1]" we call it "Pre-Alpha Training Server [Newcomers join here]". The purpose of this server is to attract new players to one specific server. It's like a meeting place. Old vets like us will also join and teach the newcomers the ropes. Competetiveness is tuned down a touch so the focus is on learning and trying out stuff. This way we reduce frustrations between vets and newcomes. And it gives new people coming in for the first time a place to go to. What do you guys think? I think it is super easy to implement, at no costs or effort (on the side of the devs/admins). And I think it will help the community.
  21. So there is a new build.. not much new but some server fixes etc. And now im only in server with 10 people or so. And think most of the guys are asking them self why arent more people playing the game.. Is it because of:? - bad performance on your pc? - lack of new content? - not many player playing it? - bugs? - you didnt know? lack of annoucement or advertising. - just no time to play it? or any reason you got.. Maybe explain it so devs and the community know why people arent playing it so the devs and community can make the servers full and test the shit out of this game to make it more awesome!
