      Forum Rules   07/06/2016

Introduction   The Squad Team reserves the right to edit, update, add and remove rules at any time. Applicable rules extend to the PM system. Your PMs are private, but the Squad Team may be informed about unacceptable PM content by the receiving party.   Section I: Posting Rules   §1 Show Respect This community can only work if we all respect each other. To that end, it is imperative that any time you engage with another user, either directly or indirectly, you show them respect with the content of your post. In particular refrain from flaming, insulting, abusing, taunting, racism, and other similar types of actions towards other forum users.   §2 Attitude & Behavior Poor attitude and behavior are the most common ways a negative / unsafe environment is created and perpetuated. As such that kind of behavior will not be allowed on these forums. Please be mindful of this rule when posting personal positions and opinions regarding topics which could be considered contentious in nature. As a rule of thumb, keep your posts civil in nature, and refrain from making posts that are likely to incite arguments and create a negative environment. As a privately hosted web forum we reserve the right to maintain an environment that we are happy the majority of our players are comfortable with.   §3 Swearing While we will not strictly moderate every little swear that occurs, please try to avoid excessive bad language. The moderation reserves the right to remove rants and unsuitable content at any time.   §4 Illegal Topics
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to: Piracy, drugs (including cannabis), pornography, religion, racism, sexism, homo/trans -phobic content, videos and images showing violent death or serious injury, ‘spam threads’, hacking & griefing (endorsement thereof), religion, politics,  etc. Prohibition may be suspended for some threads if they are found to be suitable by the Moderation (such as scientific debate).
If there is doubt, the Moderation Team can decide whether a topic is considered illegal.   §5 Attitude towards Squad and the Development Team
As per §1 and §2, keep in mind to be respectful and reasonable, not only towards all users of the forum, but also towards the Squad Team and towards any ideas and content and the game itself. Criticism is welcome, but if it is not constructive and/or if it is offensive, the Moderation may need to step in. Please refrain from posting if you are upset, angry or drunk, or you may be punished for things you wouldn’t have otherwise written, which is not in anyone's interest.   §6 Language & Legibility
Please post only in English. Non-English content (including non-legible content) may be removed. If you see someone posting in another language because s/he apparently does not speak English, please report their post - if you can, you may reply in their language to explain their question, but please do translate their and your message so it can be reviewed by the Moderation. ‘Hiding’ insults in non-English posts will be punished harshly. Posts written largely in ‘leetspeak’ or full of spelling / grammatical errors may be treated like non-English content. This rule does not extend to PMs.   §7 Forum structure & Search
Please ensure when posting a new thread, that the thread is located inside the correct forum section. Check all forum section titles to judge where your thread should belong. Threads created in the wrong forum section will be moved or deleted.
Before posting a new thread, please make use of the forum search to find older threads about the same topic. In doubt, it is recommended to rather post in an existing thread, unless that thread is years out of date. However, do not bump old threads without adding a new question / answer / insight that wasn’t in that thread before - use common sense.   §8 Thread Titles
Please name your thread appropriately; the subject title should sum up / explain the content in the thread. If you fail to name your thread properly (such as ‘Hey!’ or ‘Check this out!’ or ‘Help!’), we will either rename or lock the topic. Repeated offense may lead to infractions. The practice of using CAPITALS only in your thread title is not allowed and will be edited or the thread will simply be deleted. Strange or abnormal Unicode characters should be excluded from thread titles for the sake of being distracting and unnecessary.
      §9 Thread Capitalization
Please ensure that your post is not in all CAPITALS, as this is not allowed. Any threads posted in all caps will subsequently be removed from the forum. Repeated offenses may lead to infractions against your account. This practice is not approved or accepted here.
        §10 Images in posts
When posting images, mind the following restrictions:
.gifs will be allowed and may be removed by Staff if deemed necessary.
Maximum size for images is 1280x1024.
Do not include more than ~1 large image per paragraph of text, unless in image collection / announcement threads. Link to further images.
Consider posting thumbnails. You may post a few more images per post if they are reasonably small, the details are for the Moderation to judge.   §11 The use of BBCode
It is allowed to use the BBCode in your posts. Over usage is not allowed. You may use the Bold in a reasonable manner but not for the whole text body. You may use the size feature but in a limited reasonable manner. You may not use any of the additional fonts at all. Color may be used to high light a point but again, not for the whole text body. Moderators will be watching for misuse and will edit when required without giving notice. Continued disregard for this rule will result in Moderator action in the form of warnings.   §12 Complaints of Server/Admin Abuse Reports of server/admin abuse will not be posted publicly. All reports concerning this type of behavior should be place in the appropriate sub-forum. http://forums.joinsquad.com/forum/241-report-server-admin-abuse/ All posts made outside of this area will be be removed.   Section II: Reporting & Moderation   §1 Reporting Posts
There is a Post Report system in place. If you notice a post that violates forum rules, simply use the exclamation mark icon below the users avatar image to send a report to the Moderation. We will then review this post. Your report will not be made public and cannot be linked to your person by anyone outside of the Squad Team. You will not be punished for using the Report system even if the report was false, unless you repeatedly abuse the system to spam it.
Do not ‘report’ posts by replying directly in public to them. In case of spambots, this prompts them to respond in turn, spamming the forum further. This also fuels flame wars and arguments.   §2 Reporting Moderators
Moderators are subject to the same forum rules (and some additional rules / exceptions). If you think that a Moderator has treated you unfairly or is otherwise breaking forum rules, please PM the Lead Moderator or any Administrator. Do not accuse Moderators in public, the Squad Team will treat every complaint seriously and it is in our interest to discipline or remove Moderators who are known to break forum rules.   §3 Respect Squad Team members and Moderators
Do not ignore or argue against Admin, Moderator or Dev instructions on the forum. If you have a complaint, as per §2, please inform the Team in private. You are expected to follow orders given by the Moderation, Administration and Development Team, and it is necessary for smooth running of the forum to respect their decisions. Being stubborn or ignoring warnings will lead to harsher punishments - however, we do not tolerate Moderator / Admin abuse of power / privileges, so do not hesitate to inform other Team members if you feel treated unfairly.   §4 Bans and multiple accounts
If your account is temporarily or permanently banned, do NOT create another account. Bypassing a ban will result in further action, and a permanent ban of all of your accounts.
You are not allowed to have more than one account for any reason. If you share an internet connection with another user who has their own account, it might happen that this account is incorrectly identified as a secondary account - please get in touch with the Moderation or Administration to resolve such issues.

  3. Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and this might be the wrong place (feel free to move me ;-) ). I was wondering if there's a current guide out there to tweak graphics settings. I'm interested in the best compromise of fps and quality (aesthetics and spotting). Usually, you have some kind of sweet spot that still gives you relatively pleasing visuals but retains a good fps rate. I found some guides from 2018 but I since things have changed (engine updated etc.) and I'm not sure if they still make sense. Thanks in advance!

  5. Uncapping fps

Hey, Is there a fps cap? I am unable to get more than 60fps and it is exactly 60. No vsync on or any other limiter and the screen is 144hz but it is still capped at 60.
  6. Does anyone here play Squad on a Laptop with an 8th/9th generation i7 (that means, the 8750H or the 9750H) and could please express his/her opinion on how well the game runs on it? NOTE: I know Desktop CPU's are the ideal go-to for Squad, but I currently need mobility, so they are not an option Thanks in advance! In addition: I am planning on getting a laptop with an RTX 2070 + i7 (didnt decide if I shall go for 9th generation yet). If anyone has a laptop with that set-up over here, please share your opinion too
  7. High End PC Low GPU and CPU Usage

Hello SQUAD Community! I have been playing SQUAD for a while and I have over 200 hours played, but I have a big problem. As the title says I have a High-End PC CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (stock) MOBO: MSI B350 PC MATE RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 2400Mhz GPU: Asus Cerberus GTX 1070Ti No matter what settings I put the game on FPS is around 45 and dropping. CPU and GPU usage is around 30-35%. I have tried everything: Updating BIOS Overlocking Deleting Cache Reinstalling Windows 10 Updating drivers Now that when I am out of ideas I am turning to the community for help and ideas that might fix my problem. I love this game and what to keep playing but it's hard when the FPS is so low.
  8. Hey guys, yesterday, TacticalGamer server, Sumari, dynamic TOD, FPS was shite, 10-15 FPS , usually I have 30-60. So i started a local server and did some testing. Loading the AAS1 layer again and again and again. There was just one specific time of day where FPS were perfectly fine. When the map started during night and went to morning, the FPS were shite. i5 2500K @4.3GHZ 16GB RAM R290X 4GB So it seems to be connected to dynamic time of day. Seems worth investigating, doesn't it?
  9. v17 lower fps?

Recently (after v17 commander update) I noticed my fps is lower than it used to be, around 10-15 frames lower to be exact, although sometimes it drops around 25-30 frames. These frame drops are throughout the entire map for the entire playtime, not just when under heavy smoke and debris. When near heavy smoke, i drop to around 15 frames. I understand I don't have the best pc setup, but I don't certainly have the worst. Since the games creation I've noticed it's been slowly starting to choke lower-end computers as updates release, hopefully this isn't something that will continue.
  10. Unplayable after few mins

After today's 40mb patch installation the game becomes unplayable after 15 min playing it, fps drops to 6fps. !st time having this issue since playing Squad from 2017. Plz hot fix it, and it could be nice if u publish the change notes of all ur patches, not only the bigger ones.
  11. Intel® Core™ i7-9700KF - 8 Cores GeIL ValueRAM 24GB DDR4-2133 NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB SSD 500GB Crucial MX500 will my pc run squad on epic graphics settings and have 60+ fps? greeting, Mulder
  12. It's simple really. My pc sweats trying to max fps while in main menu (i've set limit to 165 fps as I have 165hz monitor) and dont really wanna have to change it up every time I join or leave a game. So two simple options to fix this. 1. Add seperate FPS limiter for when you are in the main menu 2. Add option to disable the rendering of the game behind the menus all together. Nobody wants or needs 60+ fps in the main menu. Makes myself, my pc and my room really hot and sweaty. Thanks
  13. Terrible. Nothing more can be said. My computer is completely in the recommended system requirements for comfortable playing at high graphics settings of 60 fps Windows 10 x64 Intel Core i7-4790K Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 RAM 16 gb ddr3 1333 mhz 55 GB of free hard disk space And all this on full HD. The frame rate is from 43 to 56 on average, which makes the gameplay is not playable. Equally important, the graphics settings have no effect on performance. I have already tried everything: and lowered the settings in the NVIDIA control panel, and included the paging file, and removed a lot of excess in the operating system itself again for performance .. Nothing helps. All this is an excuse that the game is in the test and is far from the release, but still people have that the computer components play a little better than mine with FPS 60+ with drawdowns up to 50. I do not know what to do
  14. any plan of adding a fixed benchmark tool in the future?
  15. So, when i'm playing and the FPS go below 85 everything looks so choppy/jittery/laggy, and this is not only playing Squad, other games too, like Insurgency for example, is there any option causing this on my PC? Anyone is having the same problem? Let me know and thanks for the help in advance. PC Specs: - CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K (OC'ed: 4.8GHz) - GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1080Ti ROG STRIX GAMING OC - RAM: G.Skill 3200MHz RIPJAWS V 32GB (4X8GB) DDR4 - SSD: M.2 Samsung 960 Pro 512GB NVMe(running OS) / Samsung 840 Evo 250GB(running Games) - Monitor: AOC AGON AG241QX(144Hz, G-Sync ON + V-Sync On Nvidia CP(Off in Game) + FPS capped to 141) - OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
  16. Performance boost, file edit?

This was probably asked many times on this forum but ill ask again, is there a way to edit the ini file and which lines should be edited to get better performance? My specs are: i7-7700HQ, 16gb ddr4 ram, gtx 1050ti slightly overclocked. I do get anywhere between 40 and 60 fps in the game, depends on the map. My in game settings are 1080p, effect are on epic, view distance and shadows are on medium
  17. Alright, I need a new multiplayer shooter to replace Battlefield 4, and no, screw BF1 or BFV, I'm just about done with E.A for a while. What about this game? I'm mostly concerned about how well this game will perform in its current state on my PC. Can I get a decent frame rate in this game with this set up on medium or high settings? Windows 10/64 bit GPU: RX 470 CPU: I7-4790K RAM: 16 GB DDR3
  18. I used to get 100fps average @ 3440x1440 Ultrawide with all settings maxed out, I just played my first 2 games since v12 and my FPS was anywhere between 50-100 but constantly fluctuating massively, I assume this is a v12 thing as nothing has changed my end? My other games still perform flawlessly. Spec (for reference): CPU: i7-7700k GPU: Evga 1080ti SC2 Hybrid (Driver 416.94, not the latest because BFV ran like shit on the latest one) RAM: 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200MHz SSD: Samsung m.2 nvme I was hoping to get back in to Squad over the holidays but if it's behaving like that that'll put me right off.
  19. Low FPS On Fairly Decent Specs

Hello! I purchased Squad a long time ago on my old gaming laptop and was never able to run it, however, a couple of weeks ago I brought a new PC (specs below). its a much better upgrade than the one I had, still not the best but I feel it should be able to run Squad better than it seems to be at the moment. In test range i can get up to about 50 fps max on medium settings, FXAA on, everything else turned off 1920 x 1080. Online (which I know would drop fps a lot more) I get about 20-40 fps. 40 fps when there is no shooting going on and more chilled area, basically back at base but still very rare. to some this is good, WHICH IT IS! don't get me wrong that's still good but when it goes to 20 fps the game become unplayable and no more fun and it sits at that when I am actually in the war zone. Not to mention this doesn't happen with any other games other than arma 3 to which ultra settings or low settings i sit at 20 fps no change at all, but that's a different problem. If anyone is able to help me fix this or give me an explanation to what it could possibly be that's causing such low fps, it would be much appreciated. Im expecting my specs to be the main reason though. Specs: Windows 10 64-Bit 8GB Ram AMD Athlon x4 950 Quad core Processor 3.5Ghz Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 2GB Ram 120GB SSD 1TB HDD 75hz Monitor 1920x1080 Any help at all would be very much appreciated! Luke p.s Sorry if this is on the wrong thread.
  20. Squad v12 running really bad

My specs Ryzen R5 1400 8gb ram Gtx 1050Ti In this version i have to play at the lowest setting of the game (720p),i tried everything that can improve fps,the game crash everytime i join any server, I saw the other people play 50fps (idk about the resolution) with the older version(idk which version) just with i5 4460,8gb ram,and gtx 960 2gb What is wrong ? Or is it just the v12 is so bad ? Tell me how to fix this thing,i clean the cache everytime i wanna play this game Just suggest Improve the optimization first before add some stuff at the game, stuff that you give to the game still not gonna fun if the game so laggy,so much crash, and the other issue,it just make people mad at this game
  21. two things I noticed: when I go to "settings - game - general - maximum FPS" and set a value, say 60, I click "apply" and it works, but next time I restart the game it still says "60" but it doesn't work anymore, unless I change to another value (59 or 61, then 60 again) to make it work. when I go to the "command menu" or "deployment menu" I toggle "viewing roles as player icons" ON, and it works, but on the next map although it is still ON, it doesn't work unless I switch it off and on again also, please, make clicking on the HAB to respawn more responsive, I always end up having to zoom in to click on it because I click on someone else or something else, I know I can use the menu on the left side to click on it, but I like to clicking on the map
  22. As the title says, I meet the minimum requirement but when I get into a game I get about 20 fps with all settings to the lowest... Here are my specs: Amd Ryzen 3 2200G EVGA GTX 1050 2 Gb 8 Gb Ram Is there something I might be doing wrong? By the way I'm new to pc gaming so you'll have to be precise in your explanations haha
  23. Please Help! Confusingly Low FPS! Specs - (ASUS Zephyrus) GTX 1080 Max-Q with 16gb Vram Intel i7-7700HQ 16gb RAM M.2 960 EVO 512Gb (The game loads in extremely fast so no issues with the M.2) On low and high (yes both low and high, very confused) settings at 1080p I get around 30 - 40 fps on a full 78 man server and around 60 on the firing range...Using task manager I recorded that my CPU was at 90% - 100% utilisation (so no issues there) but my GPU was at around 30% - 43% utilisation with roughly 4-6Gb of VRAM being used. Is the i7-7700HQ therefore bottlenecking the game? Plenty of other games I play perform considerably better so I'm at a loss of what to do. Is there maybe an issue with the bios?
  24. My specs i5-7500 gtx1080 16ram hdd 2tb (5200) Problem: I have been playing squad on this pc couple of month, and yesterday game started to extremely freezing after an hour of playing. Using monitoring during this stutters i noticed that when i'm not moving anything, i have stable fps 70+, when i start to run or just move mouse around gpu usage drops from 90% to 5%-15%. CPU and GPU usage during the game about 90% both. Temperatures stable CPU 60 degree max and GPU 65 degree max. GPU overclocked little bit. Setting are all high. PRE LOAD TEXTURES OFF.
  25. How many fps ?

Dell Inspiron 7567 Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 15.6 Inch FHD, 1TB+128GB, 16GB, 4GB VGA - GTX1050, Eng-Ara Keyboard, DOS, Black / NewVisionTechnology Hey guys, does anyone have that laptop ? i want to know how many fps should i have on that laptop in squad in different graphic settings ? i need a reference to compare and know if mine is working well or not. Thank youu
