  1. A little highlight of the last CCFN on Al Basrah!
  2. Wasn't thinking I'd have that many videos to share, but might as well get a single thread going too. Will update as more cool stuff comes out. And the first of this thread is: Things not to do #2!
  3. @Crowmium that's a pretty neat suggestion, put it up in the #feedback channel on discord, or in the suggestions forums here =D
  4. @Crowmium It's a server option, but the only options are "on" or "off". In order to maintain your server's status as a licensed server, you'll need to have them on. To expand on it, you either have the game rules dictating how vehicles can be used, or have to rely entirely on admins to keep them from being misused. There isn't a middle ground where the rules are flexible enough to allow for flexible vehicle management while relying minimally on admins, or giving other players an option to deal with problematic asset wasters.
O jogo terá a facção X? No período actual.
  6. @Tartantyco it wouldn't, but that would mean the claiming system would effectively be shut down, and I understand their reluctance to do so. Remember, we have to consider all servers, from the well-adminned ones, to the ones named xXx-1337Skillz420-xXx
  7. "I do see some downsides, like players begging for commendations. Or having friends upvoting a player again and again every round," I love the idea, including the "no negative points" thing, was talking about it just yesterday on Discord. I don't think your concern is too worrisome though. The player-awarded points system is an honor system. Fake player awarded points are completely useless. Hell, even honest points are completely useless. They would just be there for people to get an idea of that player's characteristics. If the guy has a million "SL" points and can't lead his way out of a bathroom, nobody's gonna take him seriously anyway. Just adding to that, I'd say some cool types of points could be something like "Squad Leader", "Communicator", "Marksman", and "Life Saver". Something as generic as possible, while hinting at what might have earned the player that point.
  8. I'm all for enforcing rules the old fashioned way, via bans, and getting rid of the vehicle claiming system, for servers that have active admins. There's one problem though: you can't disable vehicle claims and retain your licensed server status. As for the vehicle claiming system, here's my opinion on it: It was necessary, to start off with, but needs tweaking now. Ideally, only one person would be needed to claim a transport or logi, so we could have transport and logi squads. Alternatively, you could need three people to claim them, but those people would have access to TWO vehicles, like a trans/logi, and a Humvee for escort. An APC should only require two people in either case, and there should be some sort of mechanic to prevent a single person from crewing it, at least effectively (like a 10 second timer after you leave one of the seats and before you can occupy another seat). Ideally, some sort of votekick system would be in place, to ensure unadminned servers would at least give players the option of getting rid of asset wasters. That having been said, and as you pointed out, the vehicle claiming system prevents, in its current form, the dynamic usage of vehicles. A squad leader has to lead infantry, take care of logistics, manage respawns at main if he needs a vehicle, and manage the vehicle itself. It's too much. For me, at least =P So it's not only the community, you see. There are also some constraints concerning the alpha status of the game.
  9. I'm going to say that there's been a lot of discussion surrounding respawn timers already, and the general conclusion points to it not really helping if we just keep increasing them. The combat's pacing will still undergo some changes as mechanics and maps evolve. Hopefully it'll get slowed down a bit. Now, about the medical system itself, while I do hope that it comes to be a bit more in-depth (and plenty of things point to that coming to be the case), I am way more curious about the possibility of a medical tent, and persistent damage after you get shot in a limb. For example, you get shot in the arm, your aim goes way off, or in the leg, and your movement is severely impaired. I would love it if a medic could heal you up, say, 3/4 of the way up, and restore some mobility and/or aiming capabilities, but to get back to full combat effectiveness, you'd need to get to a fob with a medical tent and get healed up inside, or close to it. This would mean you could actually aim to cripple a squad before their assault, instead of as it is right now, where they're either alive or dead, and can fully recover after assaulting a compound where they take casualties, going back to full combat effectiveness on account of a single medic reviving people. I believe something like that would do more for a medical system, and the game's pacing and strategic aspects in general, than any sort of in-depth healing mechanic, or diagnosis/treatment system.
  10. You can't have a dedicated logistics squad right now. Some people say you can, but they're referring to a squad manning a fob and having a logi driver supplying it. That's not a logi squad, that's an infantry squad with a dedicated logistics driver. Logi squads are squads that only serve the purpose of supplying the entire team's fobs. They will have one or two logis, and possibly armed vehicle support. To get one logi, you need three people. That means one driver, and two doing nothing. To get two vehicles you need six people. That means two drivers, one gunner, and three doing nothing. If you want two logis and a support vehicle, you need nine people, five of which will be riding shotgun. The only way you can have a logi squad is if you get two more people to spawn in with you at the start of the match, claim a logi, then have them leave and join another squad, and repeat the process if the logi gets destroyed. It's not doable. You can't manage an infantry squad and attend to the logistics and transport needs of the entire team. It would be doable if you could claim a logi with one person in the squad, or two vehicles with three people, like a logi and a humvee. And my guess is that something like that will still happen. Don't forget this is the first implementation of the claiming system. Tweaks are bound to be made.
  11. Although some of these guys can easily dealt with by kicking them from the squad, I'm going to ask that you put the guy who aims his gun at the medic healing him in bold.
