  1. Getting 50-70 FPS with a 1070 1440p

No GSync monitor I assume? I over estimated how many frames my new PC would get in Squad, but even when the frames dip I think GSync is keeping things silky. I'd say your frames are pretty damn good, but if you are like me, you had higher expectations of your upgrades.

  7. Squad Match Maker: A Squad Team Community Hub

Here is a proper Discord Link for long term use. https://discord.me/squad-match-maker We are populating the North American, European & Australian Team Directories, so if you'd like to have your team included please join the Discord and message an admin. Thanks to Team [FFO] for being first to post a Match!
  8. I'd like to invite all Squad Teams and Squad players to join the Squad Match Maker Discord. I've been picking away at this Discord for a couple weeks now, and think it's time to open it up and see what happens. https://discord.me/squad-match-maker My intention is to create a Community Hub to help your team find Squad matches of all types, as quickly and as easily as possible. Match Maker will compliment the other existing Squad communities, and is intended to bring all Squad Teams together. In a nutshell, I'd like to help make the process easier for your Match Directors, by creating a single, central location where Squad Teams come with one intention: To find a Match and face off against other Squad Teams. Squad Team Leaders Use Squad Match Maker to help streamline the process of finding a practice match for your team. Expose your team to new Squad Teams you may not have met yet. Individual Squad Players Visit Match Maker and join the merc_for_hire channel where Squad Teams looking for pickup players can invite you to take part in a Match.

  11. SQUAD and Ultra Wide Monitors

@RipGroove I'm getting similar results more or less. 7700k @ stock 4.2GHz and a 1080 at stock (but high) clocks. Max settings, with AA but no Supersampling on, Fools road might dip to 50fps, Gorodok to 60fps. I'm actually kind of disappointed but think I had unrealistic expectations going into this, and Squad's optimization will only improve things.
  12. SQUAD and Ultra Wide Monitors

@GonzoPR I've actually been playing at the lowest FOV (90?) so far. I like the increased 'magnification' for spotting enemies, the sacrifice being reduced peripheral. Might do some experimenting now that you mention it.
  13. SQUAD and Ultra Wide Monitors

@Nikko B Buy it! Almost perfect case IMO. Only negative is the case thumb screws are really soft and will bend/strip eventually but could be swapped out. The 4x that hold the glass are perfect though. It fit a huge GPU & Noctura air cooler with just millimeters to the glass, but it worked. I replaced the case fans and added 2x more 140mm up front with Noctura's grey fans and it's really quiet. I've been using Full Form Factor cases for too long, mid is the way to go!
  14. SQUAD and Ultra Wide Monitors

I'll resurrect this thread once more because I'm sold on Ultrawide, and can assure you that if you're considering UW for Squad, you will not be disappointed! ASUS ROG PG348Q" 3440x1440 @100hz w/Zotac gtx1080 Extreme keeps Squad and even Gorodok running like I hoped it would. I rolled the dice and grabbed a refurbished model (newegg Canada) and got lucky. Zero dead pixels, near mint condition and I saved almost $700. So Canadian buyers keep an eye on newegg if you're not in a rush because I've seen that deal a few times now. Noticeable affect right away was I use my mouse much less (better for wrist) and scan the extra peripheral with my eyes. It's relaxing and the immersion is real. With GSync, I hope I've bought into technology that extends the effective life of my GPU/PC by keeping future games smoother for longer. Doesn't matter though, since I'll still just be playing Squad in 5 years, riiiiiight? For day to day use, Ultrawide is taking some getting used to, and I still use a 2nd screen which now looks like shit. It's a totally different desktop situation and a real adjustment, but it's really nice. Autocad, Premiere & browsers look perfectly straight, so for me the curve seems to be the way to go with UW. I am officially on the UW bandwagon.
