  1. Agree with this. Would be good to see straight snapping, 45' angle snapping, and 90' angle snapping for sand bags. Snapping sandbags on top of sandbags would also be good, and snapping sandbags on top of HESCO blocks (so you can take advantage of the Pillbox Sandbag Line on top of the HESCO bags). Was going to suggest this myself but searched and found this topic so worth a bump.
  2. Dual Rendered Scopes

They should bring it back. Both NVidia and AMD have done a lot of work with multiple viewports for things like VR. I'm sure it'd be a lot more performance today than it was in 2016.
  3. Spec Ops Layer

So an idea I've had pretty much since Battlefield 2. A game mode where the teams are essentially, completely imbalanced numerically. Team A: The Special Forces. - 9 to 12 players - Armed with advanced weaponry - sniper rifles, laser sights, suppressors, optics, specialist grenades (stun, flashbangs, etc), special weapons (XM25 perhaps) - Access to nightvision, thermal optics, small and large drones, can call in air support, drone strikes - Access to extra equipment, such as grappling hook, breaching charges, ballistic shields, under door cameras Team B: The rest - The remaining players out of the 80 server cap - Armed with basic weaponry - mainly iron-sights, no special attachments, basic grenades - No special optics or access to drones/air support. - Basically 1 level up from insurgents. The Missions: - HVT assassination - HVT extraction - demolition Basic idea being, that the spec ops team has vastly superior access to information, whilst the rest has pure numbers. I'm sure I'm not the only person to think of this since 2005.
  4. Next squad sale?

You can get it slightly cheaper on Humble Bundle if you're willing to sign up for a subscription. So far I've claimed 3 games and bought 1. The games I've claimed were about $40 a piece plus saved $16 on Squad so well worth the $30/month. And you're supporting charity!
  5. Helicopter Joystick Support

To be honest I didn't even try flying a chopper until I had well over 4 hours in game.
  6. A better tactical map

There's an easier way. Create a very large orthographic camera in the editor. Then create a plane. Place it at elevation 0 (whatever that is in the game). Create a script to go around and take multiple high-resolution shots of the map through this orthographic camera until you can stitch together a full map, with the plane. Where the plane intersects the landscape at 0, you have your 0 elevation line. Repeat for 10 m, 20 m, 30 m, 40 m, etc or at whatever resolution you want your topographic map to be. Done. I'm sure there's a way that you could automate that even further and just make the editor spit out a full topographic map of every level.
  7. Body bulletstop after death

    That's just overpenetration :-p
  8. Mortars "have to go"

Just make it take longer to get ammunition for the mortar. Mortar was a 2 man job in PR. Gunner and loader (the guy walking back and forth between supply crates and mortars dropping ammo packs). Now it seems like a 1 man job. A mortar crew is 2 people who aren't shooting you in the face.
  9. 100 player Servers

I haven't played BF:PR2 in years though. Still going?
  10. This is a Steam issue not isolated to Squad. Can happen in a lot of games after a crash. Try going to the command line, as admin, and type: taskkill /f /im squad.exe And see if it Steam realises the game is closed.
  11. 100 player Servers

I remember 100 player PR:BF2 games. Server would crash every 30 minutes.
  12. Helicopter Joystick Support

I bought my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro in 2005 to fly choppers in Battlefield 2. Since then, I've used it in... Battlefield 2 ArmA Project Reality: BF2 Arma 2 Project Reality: Arma 2 Battlefield 3 Battlefield 4 Arma 3 Grand Theft Auto IV Grand Theft Auto V DayZ DCS World Warthunder If I had been told I couldn't use my joystick before buying this game, I wouldn't have have bought it.
