  1. What position do you play the most? Why?

It depends on the faction, but I tend to like Grenadier because I am deadly accurate with the boob tube.
  2. I hope you put down the controller for at least a few minutes while you are...you know...saving someones life...
  3. Who was the coolest SL you've had?

Any SL that creates the squad (doesn't create it then immediately pawn it off on someone else), drops rallys, and give objectives to the group are plus 1's in my book.
  4. WElcome Ethan. I am fairly new myself. Started playing a few months ago. Based on the things you said, me and you are very similar (apart from age. I wish I was still 20. Just turned 38). I had been looking for the same gaming experience. I like Battlefield, but its only good for a quick pick up and play, insta-action type thing. i have been gaming since I was 5 years old and I have ALWAYS preferred simulations and deep strategy games over anything else, even as a little kid. (I remember playing the first Civilization game until the sun came up. I remember being blown away by the early Papyrus racing sims, and I remember loving the battle of britain combat sims by lucasarts...the manuals that came with those games..my god!) That being said I had been looking for a good "realistic" style sim shooter for a while. Problem was until recently I have been limited to console gaming because I havent had a PC that could run the newer games. Ive played and enjoyed a lot of PubG, RB6, and even the last few battlefields but they all lacked something I was looking for. Well when I recently was able to get a decent gaming PC rig, Squad was one of the first games I picked up. I immediately loved it. It was all the things I was looking for in a shooter. Teamwork, realism, detailed ballistics model, tactics, slower pace, and that sense of being careful with your life in the game. And best of all it is pretty accessible. It isn't so overwhelmingly complicated that it just makes you frustrated and turns you away. So I would say pick it up as soon as possible. You are going to love it. and hate it. but mostly love it.
  5. Post Scriptum maps and graphics

I don't know if PS really looks that much better or worse than Squad, but PS definitely runs much worse than squad right now.
  6. Any good war/combat films worth watching

Don't know if it was mentioned here (long thread, didn't read through whole thing) but recently watched "The Siege of Jadotville" on Netflix. It was a little over the top hollywoody...but it was pretty good. Or one of my ALL TIME favorite military movies......
  7. Logi truck lacks horse power

I think the bigger issue here is that twig in the road that brought my giant, metric ton hauling super truck to a screeching halt.
  8. Actually....without those things you mentioned...its way worse than battlefield.
  9. So i read this post and thought to myself "dude has some good points here" So i played invasion all night. Came back here to say the OP is dead on. Way better game mode
  10. The Expanse (syfy series)

Books are even better. Best scify out there ive read and seen in a long time.
  11. Noob from Chicago

Hi all, So wanted to introduce myself. New to the game (about 5 days in). I love it so far. I haven't really been doing a lot of PC gaming over the last ten years. Mostly console. But I FINALLY sprung for a new rig that can run current PC games and this was one of the first game I got into. (Total War: Thrones of Britannia being the other one) Gotta say I love it. I have been looking for a good military sim fps. I used to play World War 2 Online WAY back in the day (2004-2005 or there abouts) so I was looking for a game to recreate that experience. Great online community so far. Just about every game Ive been in I announce myself as a noob to the squad and I get a lot of patience and help from the players. Hell, I even accidentally TK'ed a couple times (still have a hard time determining friend from foe) and the other player said it was not a big deal (after apologizing right away of course). So d*mn refreshing. I kept trying to enjoy RB6 Siege on XB and the community would ruin in EVERY SINGLE TIME. So wanted to say Cheers! and glad to be here.
