MSI - 17.3" Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 - 1TB Hard Drive + 128GB Solid State Drive - Black Although not a desktop, will those specs max out? Conversely for a desktop, how is this one? BUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7-7700K - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 - 240GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive - Black/Gray Thanks guys

Hey guys, Since the PR days I've played on a laptop. I'm looking to upgrade considering the time of year. Does anyone know of: 1) a desktop already assembled that can max this game out and possibly record whIle doing so? (Price including monitor under 2,000usd) preferably one which is upgradeable later on. 2) a laptop under 2000 usd which although not upgradeable can max out the settings and run smoothly? Thanks if you've got any leads. I'm leaning more towards a desktop as a smarter purchase.
  4. The same old lag

Hey thanks for the help. I was hoping it'd just be a ram thing. Any chance this laptop would be able to play ultra, or at least play it at all? Haha. Dell - Alienware 15, 15.6-inch FHD, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB DDR4 at 2400M, 256GB PCIe SSD Seems that its a good time of year to upgrade.
  5. The same old lag

i7-6700hq 2.6ghz 2.59ghz windows 10 64bit 8gb ram gtx960m This game, everything on lowest settings, only produces about 30fps. During that, there are times when it goes down to 5fps or less. This is usually done when a 30mm or something big is firing. Would upgrading to 16gb or ram solve this? I'm mostly dumb when it comes to computers. Thank you.
  6. Trying to learn

You guys are awesome! Большое спасибо!
  7. Trying to learn

Stuff along the lines of what Zaicheg was saying. Phrases that could be memorized. So my level is I can make very basic conversation. I know numbers, and changing the cases based on prepositions, etc. I'm mostly lacking vocabulary, and if you can think of any useful phrases to learn/memorize, like Zaicheg said, I'd appreciate it greatly. ZiGreen, you mentioned that directions are used a lot, and I agree. I cannot tell you how many times I wish I knew how to say "He ran around the corner" or something like that! I'm still working on learning those prepositions haha. Thanks for the replies guys.
  8. Trying to learn

Hey all, I was a long time player of PR and have recently restarted playing squad. However rather than using it simply for the gaming experience (which I've always enjoyed), I'm also using it as a way to practice speaking Russian out of class. For the most part, the Russian players on their servers have been very welcoming and patient. Just from one Saturday of playing and (albeit, not extremely well) communicating with them I was able to pick up a decent amount. What I was wondering is, could any of you Russian speakers set me up with a list of useful military phrases and commands that will ease this learning process? This is in English because I can better explain it this way. If it needs to be in Russian I'll see what I can do Thanks guys.
  9. Dragging/Carrying

A lot of non-standard kits come with a drag handle built in. Would be a cool feature. Not essential but definitely an awesome feature.
  10. Mortar difficulty increase

Like many others I see mortars as a phenomenal feature with kinks to be worked out. The main complaint I see is on spam in general. I've a few suggestions ranging from placement of mortars to increasing the difficulty of using them. First on the topic of difficulty. Currently, all that is needed to set the mortar into action is a range and an azimuth (most people using the app now). The range is converted into mills, however the deflection is left on azimuth with no mill conversion (more to follow). I'm not saying make the mortar take 5 minutes to put up, which is a bit closer to a real call for fire, but increase the time that it takes to do so by: While on the mortar, remove the compass from the bottom while adding a deflection scale in the conversion screen. This will create an extra step making it take a bit longer and add room for error (no more arrows or markers showing that you're at the correct azimuth). This will by no means overcomplicate things, nor make it remotely close to mil-sim. The purpose of making it take longer to use is a compromise for some suggestions I've seen of limiting the ammo. Endless supplies of ammo brings me to the next point- Changing the placement of mortars: In PR the general rule was no mortars in the Dome of Death (DOD). This made it possible for the positions to be attacked. The problem encountered now is that people are placing mortars directly outside of the main base and having a single logi dedicated to quick supply runs. This leads to infinite ammo- this, along with how easy it is to set the mortar up, leads to spam. A compromise for the ammo would be to have a minimum distance from supply points (conventional, not insurgency as that would be ridiculous) or main bases from which you can place mortars. In conclusion (TLDR), the mortar is too easy to use both in terms of getting on target, and resupplying. It's a great weapon, and increasing the length of time that it takes to set up would help with the spam issue.
