  1. So just to conclude then, although my system did indeed have latency issues outside of Squad, those issues did not affect Squads performance (I still get like 30-40fps in places like Gorodok etc). That FPS is going on the back burner for now until I get my hands on a 1080ti, then if I still have FPS issues I'll throw my PC in the bin.
  2. OK so following on from this thread: I've also been having crackling audio issues so stumbled across a program called LatencyMon (http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon) and after running it it turns out I am having some latency issues which are almost certainly causing my audio to crackle and could also be responsible for low FPS, spiking FPS and stutter... This is what I see when I open LatencyMon: Click to enlarge Direct link: http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz243/P-Ford/2_1.png Direct link: http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz243/P-Ford/3_1.png I also downloaded DPC Latency Checker to double check the results and this is what I get (red bars are bad apparently): Click to enlarge The only problem is I can't fix it! Most guides online (including the LatencyMon devs guide here: http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon_using) suggest going to Device Manager and disabling things to see what is causing the issue and then updating or rolling back the relevant driver, but I've tried disabling everything I feel comfortable doing and nothing has made a difference?! Someone did suggest making sure my PC case's rear IO shield is fitted properly as it could short on the case but it 'looks' OK as far as I can see? So has anyone got any experience in fault finding latency issues as I could really do with some help?
  3. Hang on, I think I've fixed it!!!!!! I installed the latest Samsung NVMe driver direct from Samsung and LatMon is showing no latency issues now! Hopefully that's it. I'll need to test audio crackling and performance etc to be sure. If not I'll be back here with full sized screen shots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah sure, hang on a minute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just deaulted my BIOS and still have the same issue so that rules out my overclock...
  6. Yesterday before the update this was my performance: 3440x1440 Full servers All settings maxed except no AA or SuperSampling 60fps minimum (under heavy fire and smoke) 70-80fps average Highs of 150+fps ShadowPlay On Hyperthreading ON (Hadn't got around to switching it off yet on this build) Smooth fps generally with the odd slight stutter every 30secs to 1min Before the update I deleted the Squad folder from %localappdata% as advised, and this is my performance today: 3440x1440 Low population and full servers All settings maxed except no AA or SuperSampling 30fps minimum (under heavy fire and smoke) 50-60fps average Highs of 85+fps ShadowPlay Off Hyperthreading ON/OFF makes no difference Texture Streaming ON/OFF makes no difference Lots of small rubber banding/lag/stutter Now that's quite a drop in performance. Also fps seems very erratic, where it was almost a constant 80ish before its now peaking and diving from 30-60 all the time. This is a new PC build that hasn't changed overnight and is scoring the same today as it did yesterday on Firestrike (15000+). Here's my hardware specs but I very much doubt it's at fault because the game was clearly running great until the update, the only thing in the back of my mind is my GPU, maybe the 980ti just can't handle the game that well since the update? I'm patiently waing for the EVGA 1080ti Hybrid so maybe that will help: Gorodok has been the worst map so far where even with only 38 players in the server my fps was 30-40, I actually had to leave the game earlier because even with G-Sync 30-40fps is unplayable.
  7. Can we please get individual mute buttons by each players name on the scoreboard (just like in Insurgency), instances like in the video below are getting FAR too common now. You can't get a decent constructive word in at all now at the end of most matches. Quite often squads would like to discuss whether they are playing again and/or making a new squad for the next round. Whenever I encounter mic spam in the game Insurgency I can call up the scoreboard and hit the mute button by that players name. That person then stays muted to me forever (until I unmute him/her). The way I see it if you are going to act like a child at the end of each round and ruin everyone's chance to communicate properly then your voice does not deserve to be heard be me if and when you decide to play properly and communicate in game. I've muted loads of players on Insurgency and have only reaped the benefits of it, there is literally zero downside to it. They can scream and shout to their hearts content and I simply can't hear it. Just to add, it took me 2 hours to upload a 13 second video clip to YouTube on my awful 1MB upload, my life sucks lol
  8. Uninstalled GPU drivers in safe mode with DDU, then actually physically removed the GPU yet the issue remains, at least that's that ruled out I guess.
  9. Could this be my issue? Click below
  10. Mate it's amazing, on Squad v8.9 it was super smooth as I was getting a minimum of 60fps (under heavy fire and smoke etc) and easily hitting the monitors max of 100fps, IMO with Squad G-Sync keeps things pretty damn smooth at anything over 40fps. The 21:9 aspect ratio is just amazing with Squad, I couldn't go back to a normal ratio now, GTAV is absolute stunning in Ultrawide as well! Money very well spent! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I still need to try this, I keep forgetting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Is this ever likely to be a thing in Squad? I like my sensitivity quite high when walking around and it's great for quick QCB engagements but it's a real pain in the ass when trying to acquire a medium to long range target. It's not 'so' bad for me when sniping as I just knock the dpi down on my mouse as it has dedicated buttons but that's just not viable option when on patrol while using iron sights/red dots. A game called 'Insurgency' on Steam which many of you are probably already aware of has 3 in game sensitivity sliders: normal/iron sights/scoped which IMO work really really well. At the very least I think Squad needs a separate slider for ADS sensitivity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Well that also makes no sense either because for example I use a 21:9 Ultrawide monitor so therefore have an FOV advantage, how would you solve that? Squad isn't the competitive E-Sports game you think it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. We use the mouse in game for both character movement (pivoting) and for aiming, the mouse has to somehow replicate both of those movements which simply cannot be done with one sensitivity. A human can pivot on the spot almost instantly but then use a completely different muscle group when led prone aiming a rifle for instance so in real life there is no compromise or happy medium between the two so I don't see why there should be in game. In real life the two movements are completely different yet in game they've been combined to one method of control, the mouse. Just because in real life you can turn on the spot very quickly doesn't mean your movements while aiming a rifle are also very quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yes but a human can move very slowly and very quickly in real life, this range of very slow to very quick cannot be portrayed by a mouse mat that's 300mm long. It's not about getting an advantage it's about making the game more realistic. Humans can turn on a dime very quickly when needed and also move extremely slowly when needed (while aiming a scope for example), both of these movements should be accurately available to players in the game. As it is now in game we can either have everything very quick or everything very slow, not realistic at all... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Guys please don't get the thread locked by pissing each other other off. As I said ALL suggestions are welcome as although I've been PC gaming a long time there will obviously be things I've forgotten or missed with this new build. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Fools Road V2 - EMPTY SERVER (Apart from me obvs) "If Frame time is very close to the Game time, you are bottlenecked by the game thread. If Frame time is very close to Draw time, you are bottlenecked by the rendering thread. If neither time is close while GPU time is close, then you are bottlenecked by the video card." Source: https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/how-to-improve-game-thread-cpu-performance So, what can I do about it, is this a game optimization thing or something I can do my end? I have the same piss poor FPS on nearly all maps since V9.0 so figured my GPU was bottlenecking as the new update brought more vehicles and map detail, but maybe it's not all down to my GPU? 19. Really?! I'll have a look, thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I suspect this is intentional, to keep turrets rotating at a realistic speed instead of spinning around at hyper speed like in the Battlfield games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. All help is appreciated lads, any suggestion is at least worth a look. FYI I have HT disabled anyway for two reasons, most of my games play better with it disabled and I can run a stable overclock at 5.0GHz with it off due to temps being 15°C lower, for me the increase in clock speed outweighs the benefit of HT, at least for gaming anyway. There is some logic to 'it's your rig' as some people are suffering worse than others with v9 so in theory it can't 'all' be down to the game itself. I've seen this before in many games, an update will cause issues for some and not others, sometimes it can be fixed by tweaks at the users end and sometimes you simply have to wait for the next game update and see if it runs better with your exact hardware configuration. Personally after running numerous benchmarks and other games and having zero issues I'm starting to think that this time around Squad just isn't playing well with my exact configuration for some unknown reason. I will keep trying different things as if you don't try you'll never get to the bottom of it. Sadly though as I mentioned there are too many maps that currently return 30-40fps average for me currently to the point I have to leave the server when they pop up so it's just not viable for me to play as much as I spend too much time server hopping and not getting settled. Hopefully there will be an update soon and hopefully it'll help me out a bit. Just to add I am actually pretty pissed that the very next day after get my new PC running (after spending A LOT of money on parts) v9 gets released and buggers everything up lol. I have to laugh or I'll cry as I pretty much built this PC for Squad. At least it's almost Summer now though so I won't be constantly indoors glued to Squad, unless my performance gets better all of a sudden. Anyone want to buy £2000+ paperweight lol (jk) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks, I've actually already done all that anyway as a matter of course except those threads you've linked to so I'll have a read through those! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My CPU has an all in one water cooler (NZXT Kraken), but my GPU is air cooled for now so I could try a different slot I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Same, although there are now a few maps that I literally have to leave the server if they come up as performance is 30-50fps so for now I'm stuck playing the better optimised maps such as Basrah and Sumari etc. This is limiting me enough that I might just quit playing until the next update and see how things are then :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. This pretty much mirrors exactly what I've found. The FPS decrease does seem a bit different for different people though which I guess is expected as all hardware is different. The fact that my hardware simply destroys GTAV at 3440x1440 (with EVERYTHING maxed apart from MSAA which I've set to 2x) has just reminded me that my system is actually quite powerful and that my issues with Squad must be game related. 25. Hahaha yeah you're probably right, if a local store actually stocked them I'd give them a go and return if necessary. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
