  1. "Ammo FOBs" Promote Unhealthy Gameplay

    Its a cheesy mechanic i think meant as a stop gap until classes/inventory can institute extra ammunition carrying. I remember attacking some point and i made about 6 FOB's just for RPG ammo. Haven't done it since tho, never put myself and my squad in a situation where its needed. And if they ask i always try to say "ah darn, within 400 meters"
  2. Squad leaders with no idea what they're doing

    This is a yes and a no. I like when people aren't abrasive. But people in this game need to be wrangled and prodded constantly. SL's need some backbone and an abrasive exterior to put all 8 of his random kittens in a rainstorm to effective use. I'll be polite when telling someone they have 20 seconds to turn the hell around and get to me for a rally before they're kicked. People join a squad to be led, lead them. Dont be an asshole about it, but be stern. Like that grandpa that teaches you life lessons with the wap of a yard stick...which a lot of the new players need.
  3. Teamkillers and 1-man squads

    The only thing i want to say is that there is a problem with certain main bases only having one way out. all it takes a troll squad of two people to take a light vehicle and put it in the exit and blow it up and leave the server. We've had that happen a lot on Fools road v1, Sumari, Kokan and some other map. But honestly, its a wait it out thing, the sales brings lots of people that probably aren't ready to play the game, so they mess around not realizing how much impact they have

    Glock (coming with brits so im happy) Chinese rifles with faction QBZ and QBU rifles Militia Squad Lead should get a varmint rifle with a 3 power hunter scope Mini 14 Lever action .220RU lever action or some sort of 'civilian' rifle with a scope unlocked at 8 members

    ex-boyfriend got me to buy it 2 years ago. That relationship didn't work out.....but i got 1900 hours in squad. So at least one thing worked out from it
  6. Our server rules state that Ping: • Pings consistently over 250 may be warned then kicked The tick rate was starting to plummet and everyones pings we're starting to suffer. I admin broadcasted several times then started with the worst offenders in the 700's.   7. Thats because if the admins get on after the teamkill happened, the console doesn't show who did it. The admin tools for this game are a half finished skeleton of what they should be.

    Its a graphical glitch you're seeing, i get it too. When a player or vehicle spawns in Unreal engine sometimes freaks out and you see a super scaled up size model of whatever just spawned in. Used to be bad in v7 because the model didn't scale down sometimes and there'd be a 70 foot tall russian 2 km's away
  9. [USA] Legacy Rush Op

    The legacy group is inviting anyone who wants to come try out an event hosted on our Training server. The event will be a Rush game mode. Much like battlefields Rush mode but in squad. Defenders get light vehicles and supplies, the further back the Attackers push the more equipment the Defenders get. FOB's will of course take place of the MCOM system. Attackers attack FoBs in stages. Commanders will be present to direct flow of action and to keep players inside playable areas and away from back FOBs. Defenders will have time to set up defenses while attackers think of routes and tactics. We try to keep the maps RU v US for kit evenness. BTR is only available for the last FOB. Open top humvees for US, no CROWS except last FOB assault. Flag caps are to be ignored and tickets reserved as much as possible.   10. I'd prefer it if the name went from the blue or green to a more pale and translucent version. Solid red as the opacity is right now would still cause the problem of dead names blocking enemies. But yes, something to change the behavior of name tags when dead is needed

    Running on windows 10 is also a problem. Make sure that xbox DVR app crap is disabled. because if a i5 4690k, a GTX 750ti can do a solid 60 on most maps with medium settings (gorodok pls no more trees) than something is wrong somewhere

    The main worry seems to be tanks and other heavy assets restricting infantry. Just here to remind you theres something you are missing. Not every map lets every faction have everything they can use. Militia and INS get artillery but theres like 4 map layers that allow it. Not every map will get tanks, not every map will get IFV's not every gamemode will allow all vehicles. Not every map plays the same. Trying to exclude certain things that were promised when the squad project was announced is just a slap in the face to every PR player that backed and founded the game.

    Theres a few 3rd party tools like BattleMetrics that make the job easier. But without it yeah if someone leaves the server and you don't have their steam account/ID its near impossible to enforce or punish

  15. Rallies are going to be reworked so for now we just have to deal with it. But i'd rather it be hardcore and if the SL dies so does the rally. They are for "rallying up" on the squad lead. Not be a soft FOB of infinite spawns.

  17. With the MK19 it depends heavily on training versus in field for 1-2 years when it comes to accuracy. The well used ones certainly aren't "well oiled machines" anymore. Also there's the Russian AGS-30 so there is a rival to it. Militia and RU forces could have one. Maybe a FOB placed one can be either Direct fire or indirect fire mode since the AGS can do that while US MK19 gets 4 that are direct fire set up.
  18. An idea i had talking with friends while sitting on a point. Since Yeho v2 has a capable point that has special attributes. Is there a way to make those points spawn a vehicle when capped? So my idea along with that was Command Vehicles. A mobile FOB. A humvee, BTR, Ural truck with a box cabin/thingy. Requirements for spawning could be. Engine on press Q to "deploy radio antennae" idle for 2-3 minutes Has limited spawns (18-27 before resupply) Then it can be spawned on until its moved or destroyed. Be worth its base vehicle cost + FOB loss cost and only one available in the match and only spawn after 15 minutes match start or only spawns on special cap points.

    Until the playerbase learns and gets back up to speed i also don't think new systems that are super in depth should be added. But just an idea milling around to add complexity. Edit: more of a mod idea than a vanilla game thing really
  20. It wouldn't be too OP if its modeled just right. Full auto the thing would bounce around be inaccurate as all hell. (also if they model in the shitty sight retention spring you won't have a rear sight anyway).
  21. Hoping for more classes and droppable explosives. IED's and C4 bricks and satchels. More US and RU classes like demolitions and EOD and spotter classes and maybe working high zoom scopes. Really just the start of the animation system would be awesome. Maybe british forces for infantry maps so the artists aren't rushed for brit vehicles. Tracked vehicles. Mortars and other FOB weapon support platforms. Hopefully see the new Europe city map too.

    Maybe only SL's see other squads colors. It'd be useless information that the people that never play SL's will complain about.
  23. Like most SL's with experience say. It depends. Small maps you gotta think about where to put one to not mess with other fob placements. Bigger maps its like this If you're going to put it on the point. Simple defenses are better(grenade sumps, Multilayered trenches) forward fighting posts are needed with a squad understanding to fight OFF the point. Make the enemy scared to even be near the cap point, let alone get on it. Also need more people or competent people. 1 squad vs 1 enemy squad doesn't matter if your squad is full of people that kill for anything. If your teammates are constantly down and are basically playing battlefield, call for backup and think about replacing the FOB. BUT, off the point can be just as dangerous. If the enemy kicks you out of the point, all your squaddies are going to sperg towards the point in a straight line 1 by 1 and reveal the position of it thus killing it. Fools road Fortress fobs are a testament to this. A1 FOB with a B3 FOB. One is going to get found uncontested, then fighting on fortress happens, friendlies start dieing and respawning because "lol muh battlefield" habits and now the A1 or B3 fob is going to be found. Because there seems not to be enough players in a server, you can't (without pissing off another squad) *just* defend a FOB for defending Fortress. So its either let russia take fort or sit on fortress but let russia take your FOB
  24. So me and a few buddies knocked this idea around of when you create a squad. You get a text prompt with three or so bullet points. You can write down your base rules for the squad. Leaves you open to name your squad what you want so instead of naming your squad [Eng mics only will kick] that can be rule/point #1. When a new player joins your squad a box opens and shows the squad leaders rule points and clicks agree or whatever Basic rules would/should be simple English[language preferred] only Ask SL where to spawn, DO NOT SPAWN WITHOUT ASKING pls take medic if it is open Simple things like that Or an SL can just avoid it all together and not write anything down. Idea came to us when half our squad got replaced by people who just joined and hadn't noticed so me and my xo got rather frustrated our squaddies weren't following instructions. we thought simple flash pop up rules set by the SL would help take the edge off new players joining a squad. Because when you're in the middle of juggling points on gorodok and other SL's you don't really notice Player_56 swapped places with Player_78. That or a nice little ping that says "New Player Joined Your Squad". I'm no game designer or management professional. Really just a shower-thought we had while we had AK fire whizzing above us and teenagers screaming in our ears.

    Typically the only good ideas happen when the amount of AK fire is equal to the amount of awkward stares.
