  1. 6700K and GTX 980 FPS currently?

I've got a GTX 1080 and i7-6700k. At the time of patch 7.2 I get 30-50 fps on 72 player servers with vehicles. Infantry only I get 60+. Honestly you shouldn't be worrying about performance, trust me I've been there, it's not worth worrying about. It's not your rig, it's the poor optimisation of the game. It barely uses 50% of your GPU power.
  2. Post Scriptum : The Bloody Seventh

Fucking good shit my friends. Beautiful.
  3. Should a 14 year old play Squad?

We were all young once, it wasn't too long ago when I got told off for having a high voice. All you need to do in Squad is follow your SL's orders and call out if you see enemies. Keep it at that and you'll be ok.
  4. June 2016 Monthly Recap

    1. I got a Gtx 1080 and an [email protected] I too get 50-90fps on the forest map (fools road), my average fps would be between 40-50fps. Sometimes I get higher, occasionally I'd get 20-40 on some of the newer maps with poor optimisation. Lowering the settings to jack shit for me, even if I drop from Epic 1440p - Low 720p I barely get a frame boost. 2. It's not that sort of game, they aren't going to allow free optimisation of your gun. They try to make it as realistically portrayed as they can (specific roles having the intended attachments and rifles). The SKS is actually still used prevalently today by Insurgents and terrorists in Syria and Iraq, the PPSH not so much, but would still be seen with the irregular militia. They are going to implement a lot more weapons.
  5. Settings having no impact on performance

What I've found is that it's extremely dependant on player count, map, action etc. I got as low as 20fps on Gorodok once on a 72 player server, but was getting 60+ on a 55~ player server. On one of the desert maps I was getting 100+ fps throughout a good portion of the round. But generally fps is between 40-50. On the newer maps lower, on the old maps higher. This is why I'd like for people to specify their average, some guys report getting 70fps with their rigs when in reality they would be getting less if they just played a couple more maps.
  6. Settings having no impact on performance

On all maps? I get get 60+ on a few maps like fools road, but it drops to 50 occasionally. I only got 8Gb ram too, so I don't know. My problem in OP was that lowering the settings made no difference, can you attempt to run low settings and see if you get a major performance boost? I have the same problem with games like Arma 3 and CSGO. Where running the lowest settings make absolutely no difference in frames.
  7. Settings having no impact on performance

Well I've researched and found a ton of people with 6700k's that aren't running the game as well as you said they are, overclocked too. A guy with a 1080 and i7-6700k runs it at between 50-70fps, which is barely better than I get on a bunch of servers, I'm sure he gets as low as 40 sometimes too. 8. Settings having no impact on performance

Do you think I'll notice a big performance boost upgrading from a i7-4770k to a i7-6770k?
  9. Settings having no impact on performance

Yeah I guess so, but it's the fact that I can't juice out any more fps even when lowering the settings to the bare minimum. EDIT: Just a question, how hot does your i7 run at. I've overclocked my to 4.4Ghz at 1.25V and it's idling at 40-45 C.
  10. Settings having no impact on performance

Well my problem is that the settings make absolutely no difference for me, I mentioned CSGO as it's the same case with that game too. On counter strike, there's players with the same rig as me but with a GTX 780 instead of a 1080. They get 300+fps on 1080p, whereas I get ~250fps on 1440p, doesn't seem too bad right? However, when I change my resolution down to 1080p, I still get ~250fps whereas a guy with a 3 year older GPU is getting more. On Squad is seems to be the same, I get relatively decent fps Av. 40-50 sometimes 60+ on Epic settings 120% scaling 1440p. But, when I change the settings to low and set the resolution to fucking 720p, I'm still getting 40-50... That's my issue.
  11. Settings having no impact on performance

Ok, let me reword, performance in CSGO is heavily reliant on your CPU as opposed to your GPU. Everyone in the community knows about this, it's true. Anyways, I don't even know why we are discussing this.
  12. Settings having no impact on performance

It's really CPU intensive, I'm not sure what it is, but in CSGO even if your refresh rate is 144Hz, there's quite a big difference in smoothness between 144fps and 300+fps. It's a well known, so I'm not pulling this out of my ass.
  13. Settings having no impact on performance

I'm not sure if this helps but in CSGO, another CPU demanding game, changing the settings from high to low don't change fps either. I think there's a bigger issue concerning my CPU, I'm hoping that there's a setting in the bios I can turn off/on to stop the bottleneck.
  14. Settings having no impact on performance

My i7-4770k is clocked @4.4Ghz too, and my chip is the successor to yours, so that's interesting. On some maps my fps remains at a minimum of 50fps, maybe you aren't playing on 72 player servers or poor performance maps like Gorodok and Sumari?
  15. GTX 1080 i7-4770k 2560x1440 Average fps is between 40-50. On some maps as low as 25. Changing my settings makes little to no difference in my performance. Changing the resolution to 720p gives me no extra frames. Changing the quality from Epic (what I usually play as) to the lowest settings possibly, still gives me no extra performance. Has anyone found a resolution to this issue, or have any devs looked into it? It's really frustrating as I'm willing to play on shitty graphical settings for smooth gameplay but that's not a possibility. I hear people with outdated rigs getting much better performance. I've heard the argument regarding how Squad is a CPU demanding game, but I always thought I had a decent CPU. Any help?
