  1. Personally if you are looking at a decent value upgrade get more RAM and SSD first. Or sell the whole system and buy a newer one to see bigger benefits.

  4. that depends on your eyesight, and in my case age....................I play 1440p and 1.5 resolution scaling and it's sweet, a huge upgrade (for me) from 1080p.

ZXD are recruiting, a few good men (and ladies?). Visit our site, or discord and come play we remain active in Squad and are also enjoying PS!
  7. Can I run this game

Everything will be an issue currently, but particularly the RAM. IMO based on talking with a number of regular Squad friends, and also when I played on older, less powerful laptops and desktops I found that if you can hold 30fps - you can play. 45fps you can play kinda ok and 60fps your good to go compete! The thing is to hold those numbers as a minimum. I am very lucky as I now have a bad ass PC beast, I tend to play Squad at 90fps in 1440p (for consistency of experience) on tournament settings and it runs gloriously. The odd map or situation does cause it to drop to mid 60's but it's not a deal breaker.
  8. Removal of marksmen from the game

Personally I would reduce the amount of designated marksmen roles per side, and introduce a side wide proper marksman and spotter 2 man team that unlocks if your team has a certain number of players or even Squads. It's a real part of modern warfare after all.
  9. I use T-FXAA and it reduces the glare/flicker. best tested in the range on the fence that runs up the side.
  10. I am pleased it is coming, for Squad to be, well Squad we need a decent suppression effect. It will encourage the different loadouts to use their weapons correctly and further enhance team play in the game.
  11. Monitor upgrade

Yes this is true, the thing is with PC Gaming - there is nearly almost always a better option.................so we make our choices. Also the technical upgrades relate to each of us differently. And then there's the cost. I am fortunate, part of my PC gaming enthusiasm is based on getting all the best gear I can, literally trying everything and working it all out, nerd style. Cost is very secondary to me. Not because I am rich (I am not) - it's just how I am. I buy, test, sell, swap stuff all the time. With Squad, based on what gear I have tried (which is alot!) the sweet spot for monitor performance/value is a 27 inch, 1440p, 60Hz (or OC to say 70) TN monitor IMO. If you have and can drive that, your well set to play the game to a very decent level technically. Personally I use a 32, 1440p, 144hz, VA panel at 90fps locked. And it is glorious, but my rig inc all the obvious bits is around £4,0000! I also need all this stuff as I am relatively new to gaming (5 years only), older, slower, struggle with eyesight, hearing and am very competitive...................put me down now right. LOL.
  12. Zulu Xray Delta Squad Clan!

See the first post for finding us lads! We remain active in Squad, everyday! Also, we have enjoyed PS very much so far and look forward to release.
  13. IMO the only situation where this really counts is in competitive games, we already play to tournament settings which is shadows medium and view distance high (from memory) as min settings. (I'm sure this could be re-visited and improved upon). PC gaming has always been like this, of course the dev's will optimise the game as best they can over time. It needs to be playable for the vast majority of the market otherwise their potential customer base shrinks drastically. Squad is a demanding, modern title in development so players need to understand that re the system they use and FPS expectations.
  14. Smoking Rifles - Recruiting!!!

I am sure they will see your message here and contact you if they wish. Community servers are run by the respective communities. My advise is if it didn't work out, move on and enjoy the game elsewhere.
  15. Crashing Consistantly

Use MSI Afterburner/Riva Tuner to monitor your cpu, ram and vram use in game. You may be running out out of vram, drop settings and limit fps to ensure this does not happen. Squad only crashes for me and most of my Squad friends if we are in queue on map change. there is the odd exception in game of course but it is very rare.
  16. Smoking Rifles - Recruiting!!!

Please talk to them directly, myself with ZXD have played their server many, many times and experienced no problems so this seems unusual.
  17. GPU Memory Issue

does vram spill into page file then? I thought it was for system ram only?
  18. Help me find a PC

I see your point, but it's not always that way. Many a DIY PC builder got it wrong, and had to call in a professional. You also need time and the ability to focus and research. Personally I never found it that rewarding, and even though I can build my own I elected not to last build. Mostly due to the above reasons but also down to warranty - my system comes with 3 year remote and on-site support has needed all labour covered. (I've used the remote service a couple of times and it's been good).
  19. GPU Memory Issue

This is a weird one, personally I would reinstall the game and start from scratch with everything off or set to low. You should be having no issues, temps ok?
  20. How Does Squad Do on Ryzen 5 2600X?

search the forum for Ryzen feedback - it's significantly better than FX range but it would seem Intel still does better for Squad.
  21. why can't i run squad??

Ryzen works well i'm told, it's the FX range that seems to cause problems.
  22. AMD Ryzen CPU Performance

I don't have Ryzen myself, but a couple of mates do and they say it works well with Squad. Let us know what kind of performance you would like and we can advise the best system to deliver that (right now). Keep in mind Squad is still under development, personally I love the game and have played from the start so i simply got myself a beast intel/nvidia rig so I can enjoy the game at very high settings and fps - I am fully aware not everyone can or wants to do that of course.
  23. High Resolution GPU Usage Issue

Yes, I still think it's todo with data transfer from GPU, i.e bandwidth and this kinda support's that theory (I think). Even though we have top tier cards, we are really pushing them!
