  1. Game got too fast

Turning into BF. I knew vehicles would cheapen the game play.

Just to clarify I was born in '61.

"61 here but with the state of the game now I cant play on servers with over 35 people!! Maybe when they fix for buggy UE4 code. I used to play space invaders in the arcades in the mid 70's when it came out.
  4. Alpha 7.7 Released

And like Squad, many/most of those have similar issues. Epic dumped a half broken game engine on devs and said "here its almost free". Why else do you see indy devs using it...its almost free. You get what you pay for. Had they used a polished established engine we wouldn't be discussing this. Just hope the decision to use the buggy UE4 doesn't kill Squad.
  5. Alpha 7.7 Released

This is no normal alpha. In a normal alpha, the game engine would be an engine already polished. The damn UE4 is still in alpha. What would you expect when you use an un polished UE4 that's basically an alpha level engine. Combine Squad in alpha with the UE4 in alpha and you get a very poor performing game. They should have just used UE3 instead then we wouldn't be having these problems and the game would look almost as good (but more than good enough).
  6. Alpha 7.7 Released

Here is UE3 side by side vs UE4. Not much difference. 3 has better draw distance I think
  7. Alpha 7.7 Released

The game engine is still alpha!!! And your PC isn't old. Your cpu is still very high end. GPU can still play most games on high settings. Just not alpha level game engines
  8. Alpha 7.7 Released

No lack of common sense here. I understand why they chose UE4, it was practically free, modern engine (but lots of game breaking issues). UE3 would have required a substantial investment of capitol which they probably don't have. Unfortunate for us. Now Epic gets early adopters to do there beta testing to polish UE4 at which point it will have a big price increase I'm sure.
  9. Alpha 7.7 Released

Maybe they can port it over to UE3 or an older Frostbite engine so we can play this thing!!!
  10. Alpha 7.7 Released

I would play squad if it was playable. You need a super computer to have a playable fps. They could have licensed UE3 or a Frostbite engine and had good playability out of the box. Im sure they could have gotten a good deal on UE3. They we wouldn't have all these people bitching about poor performance. UE4 was released to soon in my opinion. Epic wanted Devs to do the testing for cheap I bet. You don't think the engine would have been as cheap as they got it if it was polished like UE3 do you?
  11. Alpha 7.7 Released

Lets hope they can figure out this defective engine code. Honestly the graphics don't look any better than BF3 but with poor performance.
  12. 100 man server. CHECK!

    Silky smooth!!!
  13. Yet more FPS complaining...

That would be great! This is one of the best shooter experience's when it plays well (<40 people for me). When you actually get a squad that works together there is no better enjoyment from a game like this. Larger skirmishes would be great if it played well enough for AMD people.
  14. Yet more FPS complaining...

You missed the point. There is no rule that says they cant optimize in alpha. This engine requires attention before the whole player base gets totally pissed and leaves to play some other game like this that does play well. They need to get on the developers of UE to fix the AMD issues fast. Then figure out whats going on with there code base that hoses AMD users as well as many intel users
  15. Yet more FPS complaining...

Its actually an excuse. Game dev can work anyway they want it. There are no "rules" persay. They choose to do what they want in what order. They just decided to put optimization/playability on the back burner. So yes it is an excuse.
