Less Clan... More Community Like the benefits of playing Squad with a skilled, organized, and disciplined group but the whole clan structure kinda crimps your style? You're not alone and may have just found your new Squad Community home. No quirky recruitment process either. 7. June 2016 Monthly Recap

The radial menu and the accompanying functionality is in itself amazing. Apartment blocks look sweet as well and will introduce some very nice new combat scenarios. Great work as usual dev team.

Ha ha. Pretty cool Heradon. Even more impressive is how you managed to (save and keep) all your screen shots from those games. Nice.
  9. Battlefield 1

The whole series can accurately be characterized as run-n-gun but... when you squad up in-game and in a voip client (like our community does now via Discord) with a group that communicates and works together it is most definitely a game changer. We play BF very much so like we play Squad together with team-work and communication. Sure you're going to get a pretty shitty "team-work" experience going solo into a public server expecting team-work, communication, and tactics to prevail. One huge reason that the series has remained both popular and fun in our own community is the simple fact that we have flat out refused to let the masses dictate our style of game-play. We squad up together ingame and in our own voip and always have a blast. If you're in our Discord and playing with our group you'll hear call outs, get revives, support, and vehicle repairs. Sure we each run-n-gun at times but overall the team-work aspect is strong not because the overall community and game supports it but because that's how we play the game.
  10. Those battlefield moments

Our Battlefield + Squad Community is still very active in the series. We host both Battlefield 4 & Battlefield 3 Community gaming nights every Thursday & Friday. Feel free to join us in our 3MOB Discord VOIP Server and head on over to our Squad + Battlefield Forums to view more info on the Battlefield Community gaming nights: http://forums.squadup3mob.com/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=3088

  12. Battlefield 1

The reality is that in AAA the true litmus test of a game's success is "sales and revenue". Sure the support and approval of a loyal player-base is most desirable but at the end of the day for a publicly traded company it's all about creating profit and value for the shareholder. I have played the Battlefield series going back to 2005 and continue to this day to manage one of the largest Battlefield PC communities in North America. Personally I have had my gripes with EA/DICE, most recently being the shoddy release of BF4 and the nearly two years it took them to remedy a product that was laden with issues. I took that one a bit personal, as I watched our once thriving and active PC player base of 500+ active players drivel down to a mere couple of dozen actives still playing the game. The sheer number of replies in this thread is a testament to the popularity and relevancy of the Battlefield Series. Even those that "outright bash" a very, very, talented development team (DICE) and speak so ill of EA have taken the liberty to post here. Getting back to "reality" gentlemen. The reality is that most of you, myself included are unfortunately in the "minority" these days when it comes to what we really value in a shooter. I'm not a statistician but I would easily venture that most of us who are drawn to Squad represent less than 3-5% of the on-line shooter market. That's unfortunate in the sense that you and I can never realistically expect or nor should we expect EA/DICE to cater a game more exclusively to what we value in a good shooter. Battlefield 3 for example garnered about 3 million pre-orders by release day. That easily made it "the biggest first-person shooter launch in EA's history". It's reported that 2 days after launch, EA's CEO told investors that Battlefield 3 had already shipped 10 million units within a week of release, with 3 million of those being pre-orders. By June of 2012 Battlefield 3 had already sold 15 million copies. To compare Squad to Battlefield honestly isn't fair to either development team nor is it being "realistic". They are two entirely different genres in reality although they may share a similar "game classification" as a FPS. One essentially has it's roots from the other. Which is it? We all know the answer to that. I applaud OWI and it's development team for remaining true to their ideals, vision, and passion. Obviously they have made a decision to cater to us... "the minority".

Introducing "designated community gaming nights". While real life can often be challenging, setting aside some free time to game with your friends shouldn't be. It's a simple concept that will hopefully allow better coordination when scheduling that rare commodity known as "game time" with your friends in our community.
