    I really hope we get dedicated vehicle squads. I hope Styrkers and BTR's get mandatory crewman kits as well. Have the devs said anything about this subject?

    I thought of that too but, it would work for flat elevation. I rather have a small indicator on the screen telling me the exactly degree the rocket pod is tilted. With a little bit of practice and some friends to spot for you. You can figure out the ranges that the rockets fire. The problem is getting consistent accuracy with each new target.

    I had an idea of having a command vehicle like a LAV or BTR to help coordinate the squads, and with that vehicle he could have access to a UAV or a small drone. With that he could use it to direct squads or spot enemy locations. The use of small drones are actually really common on the modern battlefield in Ukraine and Syria. In the end I the the commander role, UAV, and comand vehicle should only be reserved for massive maps and if there were 100 player servers. At this current scale it is not necessary. But as things scale up in sizes I'm sure it wI'll become a needed thing to achieve any sort of coordination.

    Rocket pod techie was the most interesting part, but I kinda doubt out effective it would be in game. I think the javelin and the SPG-9 is an even bigger game changer. We can count on heavier assets being put in the game.

    I hope the added Optimization will also pave the way for 100 person servers. I feel like 50 v 50 was the way this game was supposed to be played. As far as V8 will we see Mortars, Truesky, and full implementation of logistics?
  12. Hello Squaddies! I want to discuss the probability of having optics mounted on the newly showcased Kord hmg on this August Recap. I think it would add an asymmetrical element that gives the Russians a ranged advantage over the US on HMGs. I was hoping to get input from our Russian Armed Forces vets on how common are optics are on KORD and other HMGs. Let me know what your guys thoughts are and how it could effect gameplay!
  13. Squad environments.......yes please

    I loves Squad's level of foliage, view distance, and shadows but the textures look kinda flat and unnatural. Playing other games like Farcry 4 for example, the level of detail is there and the fog and atmospheric effects really bring the game alive. I just hope that this could be something that is achievable in Squad.

I agree, I would like to see factions accurately portrayed, but I think certain creative liberties could be taken as long as it is something that is adopted by the military, in current production, not a total rarity, or only used by Elite Special Forces. I see it as a benifit to gameplay as well.

It has a lot of exclusive interviews from Jimmy Carter, Fidel Castro, top Russian military advisors, KGB officials, Mikhail Gorbachev, as well as many of the regular people affected. Which gives this series a relatively unbiased view of both sides. As well as showing live footage from key points in history. If your a history buff like I am or you like documentaries. I highly recommend you give this series a shot.
  17. Air vehicles will be awesome to see, but I really hope they include more factions and even adopt completed modded factions into the game. We got a long way to go, animation overhaul is something I'm looking forward to this year.
  18. I just hope Squad eventually adds a faction that primarily uses battle rifles for the sake of gameplay. Like for the MEC in PR, they excelled at long distance engagements, but we're limited when it came to CQC combat.

    To answer your first question, I purchased the game to show financial support for the Developers and not for an out-the-box playabe game That being said my last play session was a few hours and I had two fatal errors. It sucks, but I'm confident the developers will fix this in the next month or so. The game mechanics are solid. I have a similar rig to yours OP, so you should run it fine. Consider your purchase as an investment into a game and your participation an investment in the community. As far as graphical direction, the game currently has an unlimited view distance, which might change depending on how heavy vehicles like attack helicopters or MBTs affect gameplay. They plan to add TrueSky to the near future, which would had dynamic lighting and weather effects. Just look at UE4 engine and see what it is capable of.

    Yeah, I thought you meant having specific vehicles to recover wrecks. I'm just think of a tool to get vehicles flipped or unstuck.
  22. Hello Squadies, I'd like to start a discussion on your opinions on an Eastern European map based on the current Ukrainian War. That should pit the Militia and Russian factions in the game against each other. I know the developers are interested in making a map in this theater after they finish making Fallujah West. I just want your opinions and suggestions on several things: 1. What City should they base this off of? 2. Size of the map? 3. The level of collateral damage on the city? i.e. should it be somewhat pristine or in rubble? 4. Key buildings and landmarks that should be included? i.e. Airport, City Square/plaza, big bridges, skyscrapers, municipal/industrial buildings, and rivers I know this type of map would be difficult to create, but I feel like it would add a whole new element to the game. There would be that vertical element, it's a clusterf*** situation, with good CQC opportunities, and the fact that you can be shot from any window. I personally love the Assault of Grozny map. Adding an Ukrainian city like Kiev or the airport at Donetsk would also be a great location. In terms of map design, I personally would like almost all the buildings to be enter-able, I don't think the decorated interiors are that important either as long as we have that option.     Yeah the wrecked vehicle recovery thing was just an idea for now. As the game develops we'll have higher ticketed item, that could merit a recovery. Like if the US side gets M1 Abrams and it gets detracked. This is assuming that they improve the vehicle damage model.
  25. We'll have to agree to disagree. I really don't believe that happens in real life, maybe we can ask some of our Vets on the forums on what they think. I think this feature is totally unnecessary and would be a detriment to gameplay.
